CSU Chico Interview Information

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know anything regarding CSU Chico’s interview process? There’s little to no information about it. So, I’m just curious if anyone else has gone through it and if it’s in person,  Skype or email. Thanks so much!

Hi! Have you received an email about an interview yet? I applied there and have not heard anything yet.

I haven't. I've seen on here that if we do get interviews, we should find out soon though. I'm just looking for more details on their process.

I just got an email I was invited to interview in early March.

When did you submit your application? And what are your stats?

Does anyone know if the rejection emails on the results page over the last few days are actually email rejections or if they are just in response to not getting an interview?

Hi, I received a rejection from the graduate admissions office yesterday around 1:30. The email said:

"Thank you for your interest in attending California State University, Chico. Unfortunately, we are not able to admit you for graduate study in the Communication Sciences and Disorders master's program based on the recommendation of the department."

I emailed the admissions office back. Shout out to Jean M Arnold over at CSU Chico in the Grad admissions office for calling me as soon as she got my email. Bless her heart she was so sweet. She informed me I wasn't missing anything and that I needed to contact the department head to find out the exact reason why I was rejected.  All she could see that was noted on my application was impacted, which she went on to explain that there was a lot of applicants and not enough spots.

I emailed the department head, just because I'm curious as to why I was rejected. I'm not per say upset about the decision but I feel as though for there school I am a very qualified applicant. I guess I could be wrong. Chico was suppose to not be one of my reach schools. I hope this is not indicative of the rest of my decisions to come.

Anyways, I hope this helps you and doesn't make you too concerned. I wish you the best of luck in the rest of your endeavors.

The "based on the recommendation of the department," part just seems so odd to me, as well as this process. It seems like they have a lot of people on the back burner and are sending rejections in waves or are waiting to see how the interviews go and then sending rejections if they decide to admit an interviewee. I'm glad to hear that the department there was helpful and I hope that they answer you on what their reasoning was.

I haven't heard anything one way or the other so, I guess it's still just a waiting game for me. Good luck to you as well and thank you for the update!

I agree the process is little weird and you never really know what a grad school is looking for. ASU has sent out some decisions but I haven't heard a thing. I just interviewed with Loma Linda University and they seemed more on top of their game as far as releasing decisions but the waiting game really sucks regardless. Keep me updated on what you hear and if I hear anything from the department I'll keep you updated as well. Best of luck.

I just wish they were a little more transparent about the process, specifically about what to expect. But, congrats on the interview yesterday, I hope it went well! I'll most definitely keep you updated as well. Thanks again and good luck to you too.
