Mokikaitlyn Posted February 13, 2019 Posted February 13, 2019 Like I did turn everything in. I finished both applications and submitted them and then subsequently convinced my professors to finish their recommendations. Is there anything else to do? Do I need to email someone? Schedule stuff? Would they email me if something was missing or broken or would they just reject it? Concerned.
Nothingtown Posted February 13, 2019 Posted February 13, 2019 I'm wondering the same thing! A lot of applications have checklists though, at the end, and if you're super paranoid you can manually go through it all. I had one school that used a system where you uploaded a doc to a box, and then selected what category the document belonged to (CV, Writing Sample, etc) from a nearby drop-down. It didn't save it properly though because after 24 hours, it was still showing that they hadn't received the CV. Emailed my contact there and they went in and manually applied the changes so that my checklist was all in the green. And I did have one school email me to remind me that they needed a document I'd forgotten, so some of them do that, while some of them just block you from paying the fee and hitting "submit" if you don't have everything uploaded. At this point, if you've been diligent at double and triple checking applications to make sure everything has been received, I assume it's on them if they somehow "miss" it. But given the lack of responses I'm getting from programs at this point, I'm starting to get nervous that everything school I applied to just "missed" my application. I'm sure it's just anxiety on my part but still. Mokikaitlyn 1

There are plenty of websites that are confusing. Just email them and they'll be able to confirm if you have all your materials. Mokikaitlyn 1
lovekilledinos Posted February 13, 2019 Posted February 13, 2019 Ugh! I totally feel you. One school I applied to hasn't made any changes to the portal since I submitted the payment on December 1st. It doesn't say whether my application is under review or anything. It's maddening. Mokikaitlyn 1
PsyDuck90 Posted February 14, 2019 Posted February 14, 2019 As @ringoandme stated, most portals have a checklist and other measures to ensure nothing is missing from the applicant package. This process often makes people paranoid. While you can email graduate admissions, I would advise against it unless you really really think that you forgot to upload something. Once you submit, all you can do is wait for a notification of some kind from the school. Mokikaitlyn 1
