rshaikh Posted February 26, 2019 Posted February 26, 2019 Hello all, During my application process, I had emailed a professor expressing my interest in working with them and she replied stating that I can mention her name in my application. So I assumed that she is also interested and I rightly mentioned her. This was in October of last year and the application was due in November. Now that it has been several months since I have applied, do I need to touch base with her again because I expect to hear the admission decision by March. If so, then how do I follow up? Please let me know. Thank you
Anxiously Hopeful Posted February 28, 2019 Posted February 28, 2019 You can politely let her know her via email that you have submitted the application and that you are looking forward to working with her. soylentils 1
PsyDuck90 Posted March 1, 2019 Posted March 1, 2019 Yeah, it's probably too late now. The reason she probably told you to mention her in your application was to ensure that it came across her desk instead of another faculty. If you submitted the application in November, sending an email after no contact whatsoever about 3 months later is not going to help improve your chances.
