AnachronisticPoet Posted January 23, 2020 Posted January 23, 2020 Those of you already in programs or applying to them, what's your experience/anticipation of student health insurance? Fortunately, I have a little more time on my parent's insurance, but I'm definitely nervous about the options I'll have in the PhD for insurance. As a disabled individual in particular, not being on any health insurance is not possible for me. Do you guys get private insurance or has student insurance been alright for you? What's your experience with it? Thanks!
Yas-man Posted January 23, 2020 Posted January 23, 2020 My student insurance is actually pretty good. But, it's really going to vary depending on the school. A given school likely has information about the plan, such as deductible and out-of-pocket maximum. AnachronisticPoet 1
passere Posted January 31, 2020 Posted January 31, 2020 I guess my question would be, what's the best I can expect to get from student health insurance? I'm looking at some of the co-pays and out-of-pocket maximums, and... yikes. Does anyone have a plan they love? Or do they range from "eh" to "yikes"?
