why is it so damn hard for ad office to send a decision?

Question

literally, educate me, internet, please. The continuous delay is driving me crazy.

To this school Fordham that I applied for fall 2020, after their interview they responded me with a 'it was greet to meet you, i hope you learned how our school would help you to achieve your career goal' email. Then I waited 2 weeks with no further notice, so I email to a staff and asked her nicely if it would be possible to receive a decision before the end of this month. and then she wrote back 'you are scheduled to receive at 05/29/2020' which is today, now is 7:05pm and I see nothing!

I even emailed the office again at 4:50pm to ask again and no one has replied, of course! It's Friday! Who doesn't want to get off work early on Friday! Do they really care? Why?

I will have to assume they reject me silently if I dont see anything next Monday, because the other school's class registration is about to start, and I wont be able to wait any longer.

One of the horrible story I found online to other applicant to this same Fordham school is that a person had been told initially will receive a decision in the following 2-3 weeks, then nothing came up, so the person emailed to follow up and was told to keep waiting, so after another 2-3 weeks, the person found s/he got into waitlist, then another 2 months, a rejection letter came through as a final decision.....how ridiculous that was?!

It might be the same scenario for me. but anyway, anyone has any clue why is it so hard for school to send out decision? just accept or reject or waitlist, is just a category! why is that hard to send out!?

The Bronx ranks fifth and third among American counties for COVID-19 confirmed case and deaths, respectively. Fordham, like other schools in New York is in limbo -- trying to prepare for the next term without knowing if in person instruction will be allowed.

While I can understand the frustration of not knowing one's status, I think it is important to keep things in perspective. The challenge you face is figuring out where you'll be going to grad school. The challenge people who work and live in the Bronx face is staying healthy.

Can you tell me what AD stands for? I have to speak with someone with this title and I have no idea what it means, how embarassing for me.
