Looking for an online (distance learning) program for Masters in History

Hi  everyone,

I am looking for a Masters degree (or even a PhD) that is available through online distance learning. The field I am looking for is History... or a closely related field. There are some programs like the one at the University of Edinburgh but I am looking for something that is cheaper than that. Doesn't matter which country. If anyone knows, please help.

In my decade (yikes) of being a member of this forum, almost no one ever goes to an online program.  So we don't have much in the way of resources.  Google will be better off assisting you.  But we're open to hearing why an online graduate program in history rather than traditional brick-and-mortar.

I had completed a similar search not too long ago. I stumbled across the following:

The University of North Alabama (which also offers a study abroad component I believe): https://www.una.edu/academics/majors/#/display/graduate

Missouri State University: https://history.missouristate.edu/graduate/

If I'm not mistaken, both offer no difference between in and out of state tuition.

I would like to recommend Arizona State University. They have a really vibrant online program. I'm not a student there--I'm a PhD candidate elsewhere--but I have heard great things about their program. https://asuonline.asu.edu/online-degree-programs/graduate/master-arts-history/ Their professors have produced some of my favorite history books.

Many of the UK universities offer distance learning graduate degrees for MA & PhD. It's then a research degree vs a course work degree, so you write a longer dissertation than the course work degrees.

HI Birmingham University does really good distance learning programs. They even fund one visit to campus during your degree as part of the degree. I almost did a distance learning masters there but ended up accepted to a different school.
