I was just made aware that a biostat department had not received my official GRE scores yet, which I ordered last month. The deadline was 12/1, and I checked SOPHAS, which indicated scores were posted today 12/8. Assuming that the scores did go through, am I already considered a late applicant because ETS didn't send scores in their mentioned 5 business days? When do departments typically start reviewing applications? UC Berkeley says material must all arrive by 12/18 despite the deadline of 12/1, so I'm hoping that's the case for other schools too...

How ETS sends the score reports is out of my control, but will I be penalized for this?

I don't remember the dates exactly, but I applied last year and was in a similar situation as you (my scores reached after 12/1) and everything worked out. I emailed the schools I was using SOPHAS to apply to when it became clear that my scores wouldn't reach in time just to make sure and they said it would all be fine, and in the end I was not penalized. So I think you should be fine! Relax a bit, and congrats on finishing those applications.

If you clicked "Submit" on SOPHAS before 12/1, that is generally considered as having met the deadline. After that point, you just need to make sure your materials are complete by the time reviewing starts, which at most programs is in January.

Don't worry my friend, once you provide them your unofficial test scores they can at least review your application and consider for admission!
