Congratulations to those who were accepted!

While acceptances will continue to go out throughout the summer, does anyone know from past years, the earliest they begin to make offers to waitlisted candidates?

Also, when do rejections start going out?

Hello everyone! I just checked my account and it says under my "email addresses" on mosaic that the only email i have listed is my mac email ... i haven't received an offer yet and i'm wondering if it went to my mac email? Although i also thought that my mac email address wouldn't have been activated yet since I am not a student there yet? 

My app still says "pending" with the green dot!

The only email on my mosaic is also my mac email! I got my acceptance to the email I applied with. Hope you hear back today!

I wonder when they will start sending out these rejections ... i am guessing that if you have not heard back by now, that you have likely been rejected

For those still waiting, on Tuesday it seemed like waitlist emails started coming out around 3:15ish and offers came out around 4:30ish yday, so maybe you guys will hear something later today!

I work for Mac and the server is still down!! So maybe that’s why they still haven’t sent anything!

I emailed them yesterday but did not receive a response. It says that the office is closed today (Friday) through to Monday. Does this mean we will not hear back by at least until Tuesday?

Ohh where did you find out that they are closed today? ... This is just too long of a waiting game

When I sent an email, an automated email came back to me with general answers to general questions and the first thing it said was 

“Thank you for your email to the McMaster Global Health Office. The office is closed Friday May 21st, 2021 through Monday May 24th, 2021. It will open again May 25th, 2021. We will respond to your inquiry upon our return next week.”

Hey guys! I'm a domestic applicant that has not received an acceptance, rejection, or waitlist so far. I was wondering if that means I got rejected if I didn't hear anything by now. Since the date to accept the offer was May 20th, I'm assuming they're going to start taking people off the waitlist rather than send new acceptances? What do you guys think?

They've had server errors for the past week as well, so you never know! They may end up sending a few more invites.

Hey guys,

I'm currently a student in the Global Health MSc and I've been scrolling this chat for the last few days and figured it may be worth mentioning my experience while applying to this program. I was in a similar boat as a lot of you where many people were receiving acceptances and I was very uncertain about if I would receive one. Naturally the anxiety built up and it started on May 1st, 2020, which is when I believe the first acceptance came out. I am not sure how the global health faculty is handling it this year, but traditionally they have been pretty slow and inconsistent with delivering acceptances. I learned this after having talked to many of my current peers in the program, and it honestly could be a long waiting game for a lot of you, but don't lose hope. I received my acceptance on August 16th, 2020 (am willing to provide proof if any of you are skeptical as long as it eases the anxiety), while one of my closest friends received theirs on May 8th, 2020. So naturally I had 0 expectation of getting into the program but the acceptance randomly arrived one day, two weeks before school was about to start. I thought I was probably the last person to get accepted into the program until I talked with some of the friends I made, and learned that there were at least another 10 in my position (With one of them receiving their acceptance the day school started on September 3rd and many of them receiving theirs later than mine). I am not exactly sure if this is reassuring since I'm essentially saying that we can't be sure when/if you'll receive an acceptance, but I hope it at least provides context on what the waiting game could look. Also, there is ambiguity regarding whether it updates on Mosaic or not. It didn't for me and it's actually completely disappeared from my Mosaic, but it had appeared for some of my peers. Basically, don't rely on Mosaic to give you the final answer and just be patient for an email. Unfortunately I don't know much about if they send rejection emails, but I'd be happy to take any questions you may have! Take it easy and don't be so hard on yourself, the waiting game is annoying as hell and regardless of whether you receive an acceptance or not, just keep doing your best because that's all you can ask of yourself, you made it this far for a reason

Wow that's awesome to hear and congrats on getting in!

I was just wondering were you told that you were waitlisted back in May? Or had you not heard anything and it was out of the blue they sent you an acceptance?

Hey TravelNurse,

Thank you and awesome question! Unfortunately, I had not received a waitlist email prior to receiving my acceptance or anything to indicate I could potentially receive an acceptance. As far as I know, the same peers I mentioned before also did not receive a waitlist email. Basically what this means to me is that if you have not yet received any email, it doesn't automatically mean you've been rejected

Is the suggestion that not receiving any confirmation of acceptance/waitlist is better than having received confirmation of being waitlisted? Were there people who were eventually given offers after having been waitlisted? It seems odd that they would not give candidates any response - acceptance/waitlist/rejection - the entire time and have people just hanging on.

That is super strange! I hope it’s not the case this year. I am currently living in NB and the admission decision will determine whether I am going to have to move or not. If we hear back that late, that won’t give much time to do so. I’m not sure if anyone else is in the same situation or not!

Thanks for letting us know Flapdod!! That helps clear some stuff out but, it is so stressful waiting ...like it's not easy on students who got no response yet. Prayers and good luck to all of us still waiting to hear back
