Hi all! I could really use your help here. I was luckily admitted to these 3 programs, but im really torn onto which one will be a better fit for my interests.

The right MPP would help me get trained on social impact and advanced quantitative skills of course; but specially for a behavioral science career from a public policy point of view( eg : nudge units, behavioral architects, Ideas42, worldbank's eMBeD , etc.) I care mostly about the public policy skills, but i would be so happy to find a match of both interests.

Important info:

International student, tuition will be sponsored by my current employer, love meeting new people/friends.

THANKYOU so much in advance.

PS: I know HKS is the best fit for all of this, but didnt get in :(

Wish I could trade you my HKS admissions for Berkeley GSPP! HKS is just out of my budget. I think Berkeley or Chicago would be a better fit for what you're looking for. Congrats!

1. Decide where you want to live. Berkeley and Chicago are two very different places. Chicago is just crazy terrible weather

2. That being said, if you care about behavior economics, although Berkeley is great. Chicago is academically more of the champ. You can really use the resources of other programs in Chicago to get deep into behavioral econ.

I am having the same problem between GSPP, SIPA, and Oxford (also didn't get into HKS). I am also interested in behavioral economics (more on social impact measurement of NGO programs), and am thinking GSPP may be the place, because of CEGA, as well as some of the professors. Such a hard decision. Hope to potentially see you there!

Yes, I finally decides to go to Berkeley so feel free to contact me if you do too!!

As an incoming Harris MPP student, what ultimately made you choose Berkeley over Harris? Outside of location (if that was a big factor)

Congrats either way! I'm sure you'll be happy there.

Hi! So, i spoke to a lot of alumni and current students and , as silly as it sounds, they didnt sound too convinced..  vs the very happy excited tone berkeley alumni had when talking about goldman. I think the element that really convinced me in the end was the much smaller size of the cohort and the chances of using all the resources I could .. which i could totally see during this " recruiting" weeks: SIPA only sent me emails, Chicago I had a call with administrative staff whereas for Berkeley, an amazing Economics Professor called me to chat and solve any doubts. I am sure Chicago is reaaally amazing, but the reassurance of a close faculty and community convinced me because as am international student, you dont get too much of that in my home country.

Hope this solves your question! (Besides amazing weather and  location which of course I love but didnt want to decide based on that, more about what program could be a better fit)

Also, sbout the behavioral sciences, i realized most of the faculty and interesting classes on this tópic at Chicago were labeled " phd only"  or " booth only" so that reduced its comparative advantage
