I'm interested to hear too.

I just got accepted to the Courtauld and getting into Williams is just about the only thing that might keep me from accepting it.

Congrats, Skamp!!!! I'm most likely going to the Courtauld as well! Maybe I'll see ya there! PM me if you want to chat about the program :) What's your concentration?

I'm waiting to hear back from Yale, too. It's my dream school. I'm getting really nervous... unsure.gif

Wish I knew when we will hear. I have my heart set on the IFA. I'm leaving the country today for ten days; here's hoping the decisions don't come by snail mail!

Spain! Planning to relax and think as little about this as possible.

Oooh! I love Spain :) What city? I've been to Barcelona and I took a day trip to Figueres to go to the Dali museum. For some reason, everything was closed when I went to Figueres, except the museum, 2 restaurants by the museum and the train station. (Granted, I didn't walk around the whole city ;))

Mostly Granada, and then Madrid for a few days. So excited for the Prado!

Glad at least the museum was open in Figueres. Europeans seem to be much better at taking vacations/days off than Americans (i.e. Sundays, the whole month of August).

In the meantime, I've come to the realization that it's possible I'll be rejected everywhere ... and I'm sort of ok with it. But I haven't given up hope yet!

How fun!!!! I wanted to get to Madrid but didn't have time. You'll have a blast and I bet you won't even worry with grad school because you'll be living an art historical dream! ;)laugh.gif Yay!

I've come to that realization, too, but chin up - there is still hope. We aren't rejected 'til we're rejected! I bet they're all just overloaded and they're just taking their good ol' time sending out those acceptances.

Maybe part of the delay was the EPIC Centennial CAA conference in NYC this year. That shaved off a week. I wanted to go to that so bad. Epic!

It was a pretty great CAA. I managed to go Thursday - Saturday. It made me want to get into all these schools even more! If that were possible.

:D Seriously. My work wouldn't give me the time off. I'm a little obsessed with CAA.

Congratulations to the Williams admits! I'd love to hear any details you can provide.

Did you do the suggested interview in January?

Did you do the suggested interview in January?

I am one of the admits. I got an email from the director saying that they had "unanimously voted to accept" my application (yay!) and that I am an alternate for a 2 year fellowship with tuition and a stipend. Other than that, the email just talked about the features of the program and said that I could contact them if I had questions. I didn't do the interview in January.

Somewhat off topic question, but does anyone know when FAFSA for 2011-2012 is due???

Thanks!!! And congrats to recent admits!

To the Tulane admit, who informed you of your acceptance? Also, what's your area of specialization?

I'm not sure. It could vary per school, however, I believe it's best to do it ASAP in any situation. Ideally, if you're not claimed as a dependent, your parental income is irrelevant. That way, the only income which is reported is yours.

The colleges I've applied to prefer that applicants send their FAFSA prior to March 15 or April 1. I did my FAFSA Jan 17, but edited it Jan 31 after filing my federal taxes that same day.

I suggest checking the GS's financial assistance website for more specificity.

Oi, I dunno about you guys, but I'm exhausted! The single Penn admit disappeared from the results board and now there's a wait list notification on there...there have been sporadic UDel acceptances and some people have found a rejection on the application website, though I can't locate a decision myself...someone got an interview at IFA but no other news otherwise...Columbia has almost certainly rejected those of us who haven't heard anything, but they're not notifying anyone.... I would just like to know where I stand and get ready for either a PhD program or my plan B.

Ditto! I'm sick of waiting for Columbia to just finally announce my rejection.

I checked the website again today just in case the announcement had snuck up - and I found a rejection. Took a couple minutes to realize it was my application from two years ago. I'd logged into the wrong account *headdesk* I did have a long moment of wondering why the letter was dated 2009, though...

There's been some talk here about The Courtauld, for those accepting, did you just apply to MA programs?

If you applied to PhD and MA programs, why then The Courtauld?

I've been accepted to one PhD program and The Courtauld. While the PhD has super great funding and a great faculty, there isn't a perfect fit POI. At The Courtauld, I was accepted into a course that directly fits my research interests, but I've heard and seen with my very own eyes that the professor is overtaxed and doesn't always have time to be the best mentor. No word on funding for The Courtauld either, as I just submitted those apps. Oh, and of course, there is the fact that if I do the MA, I'd most likely reapply for the PhD in a year's time; therefore, subjecting myself to this horrid process all over again.

So, for the sake of asking random strangers, what would you do? Obviously there are more details to this situation, but facing just with the basic facts... (Oh, and I would have to move very far to attend both schools, so that's not an issue.) Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks in advance!!!

I too am SO tired. If only I could could know once and for all my status with Duke. Why oh WHY do waitlists have to exist??? Are any Duke admits planning on going elsewhere??? I want to go there so bad! I feel a lil desperate.

Also, what are people's thoughts on Cornell for American art? I'm just curious what the general opinion is.

I believe a few of these schools have a review session, send out information, another review session, send out information and so forth.

Ahh, but to taste rejection. I expected it anyway.

I'm in a similar situation of choosing between a funded PhD and an MA (waitlisted for funding), except with my MA acceptance being from Williams. I guess, the two big questions that I've been considering have been 1) When I'm finished/nearly finished with my MA and applying for a PhD again, would I apply to the school that accepted me for a PhD this round again? (If yes, then is getting the MA worth the time spent if I would consider that school again? For me, probably not) and 2) If I do not get funding for the MA, can I afford to take on more debt? (I've been advised that taking on debt for grad school is "bad," but on the other hand, it would only be two years and might help me land a funded PhD).

There are other questions to consider, of course, but those two factors seem to be the biggest for me.
