Okay, I am not the only one up reading the results board at this hour, I see. Congrats to the Human Development poster, and fingers crossed for the rest of the day.

Oiseau, I got into LLC. I am very grateful and excited, but my SO of 3.5 years just got a job in Boston, so I am really, really, really, really, really, ad infinitum, hoping for Harvard to come through.

As if I need another reason to check my email obsessively every 5 mins... a bag of nerves but would love to hear either way!

Again, would love to hear from the person who posted their results (congrats)

Congrats hurrah! Did you get an unofficial email from a professor, or did you receive official email? I haven't heard anything from Berkeley yet! When did you hear? Well done! Hope Harvard comes through for you!!

The waiting is....killing.....me. Come on, Harvard. ('Harvey'...as we have dubbed it around my house). I'm not sure how I'm supposed to work today. Good luck everyone.

Thanks! I got both the unofficial and the official email. I don't want to talk about it too much here since this is the HGSE thread, but you can PM me with any questions.

I am just so anxious to hear back from HGSE! March 25th! I do hope they are kinder and let us know a little bit early. I have already heard from Penn, and although it was great news - now I want to hear from everyone else!

I applied for the Ed.M in Education Policy & Management.

A number of Ed.D acceptances have been posted - shall I assume they have all been contacted?

I'm in the same boat...honestly, after yesterday came and I didn't receive a phone call, I just went ahead and assumed that I didn't get in. I think it's better for my peace of mind. I'm guessing I'll get the official rejection email in the next couple of days.

That's what I thought after Tuesday, and I got a call yesterday! I understand wanting to guard yourself against disappointment, but don't give up hope!

That's great anyway, can't imagine how happy you must be! What program did you apply to? Can I ask about your stats?

Sure, PM me and I'll tell you whatever you want to know. Same goes for anyone else.

Saw a HGSE admit for Human Dev. and Education. If you're out there, please post your stats! Thanks and CONGRATS!! smile.gif

Thanks! Very exciting.

I received a Presidential Fellowship.

Stats: 5 years of teaching. Masters in Curriculum & Instruction to be finished in May. 4.0 grad GPA. 1500 GRE. 2+ years of undergraduate research. 3.9 undergrad GPA.

Any more questions, PM me.

Does anyone know if HGSE looks to admit more male students? I noticed that the male/female ratio is something absurd like 25% Male / 75% Female. As I twiddle my thumbs awaiting my decision, I am trying to look at all angles of what my chances are.

Also, does anyone know how HGSE looks at being a National Board Certified Teacher? It's definitely a part of my resume, but I'm not sure how much they value it.

Any comments would be appreciated as I wait...

Just wondering now-- I had no idea there would be admits so soon! Does this mean if I don't hear from Human Dev. and Education for Ed.D around now then I am probably not in?

I was completely unprepared for this. I thought it would be March 15th or something.

Same with me here. I'm kind of preparing for a rejection now. Still, I want to know sooner than later, whatever it is. If they are calling the admits now, then they will probably put the rejections up on website today (hopefully) or next week (more likely).

Good luck to us all! :)

Just got my rejection...via email. Can't say I'm surprised. I am not disappointed either. Congrats to those that made/make it!

Also received a rejection via email- like many of you, not shocked. I am really focused on working towards a Ph.D. in Special Ed, so I knew the Ed. Policy program wasn't an ideal fit. Congrats to the rest of you! Now, just anxious to hear from BC and KU!

It was so strange, I had the feeling all day I was going to hear from Harvard... I had a REALLY great conversation with a professor at my second choice school (who accepted me with full funding!) and 15 minutes later, as I was thinking "that might not be such a bad choice after all," I had the rejection email from Harvard.

Now I have to endure the sympathetic looks from all those people who said, "Oh of course you'll get in." Don't worry, people-- Plan B awaits!
