How will you celebrate?

In the spirit of being positive and keeping the glass half full, how do you plan on celebrating your first acceptance?

I plan on taking a personal day off work to take some time to enjoy the freedom from the anxious purgatory that I've been living in. I'll also take that day to share the good news with others and to obsessively start researching the school, program, city, etc. My day will probably involve guilt free chocolate too!

How will you celebrate?

Reviving this great thread and I'll tell you what I did.

1. Obsessed as to the meaning of being accepted into a program but not the graduate school.

2. Jumped through every administrative hoop they could find.

3. Texted the word "in" to my wife and walked back to my desk vibrating.

4. Nodded incoherently at my coworker who knew what was going on.

5. Called my big LoR writer, left message.

6. Skipped out of work at lunch.

7. The LoR writer called back.

8. Informed everyone using most methods of communication known to man, ordered from least understanding to most understanding while I propagated war crimes on a bottle of absynthe.

9. Attended (was driven to) a nice meal with my wife and kids.

10. Had a huge backyard party complete with inflatable bouncy house that weekend.

11. Phoned it in at the office for the next four months. ;-b

I'll immediately book a plane ticket to Europe. And stay there for as long as I can under a travel visa, which gives me three months...

I got into one of my top schools last week. After hearing I was in, I started gchatting my friends with something along the lines of "ajdfklafjkld YESS! OMG!!!" Then, I screamed the news to my parents, called my mentor, then danced in my room. Later, I baked some victory chocolate chip cookies and sent out texts to all my close friends with far too many exclamation points. Once I send in the paperwork for officially becoming a grad student at whatever university, I'm buying myself a bottle of cheap wine and visiting my friends to celebrate.
