So Northwestern acceptances are fr? Okay to lose hope as I’ve gotten nothing yet?

Expand

No need to lose hope. Remember that we don't know how these institutions work/even if they pushed out all accepted applicants. Looks like some CP subfield applicants, and congratulations to them! Could be from one POI. Who knows! One thing these forums do is love to theorize. To the best of your ability, do not stress yourself out over the unknown ❤️

someone is claiming UC berkeley on reddit as of an hour ago. exciting!

It's really quite a strange time for that to happen to a single person, 8 pm on a Friday night. Maybe it's legit, who knows.

it is legit. it checks out, especially based on the previous posts on their profile from the past several weeks. you never know how these adcomms roll things out and it often isn’t all at once.

really stupid question (I am new to this, haha), but what is the Reddit community or thread that everyone is talking about here? is there a general political science admission results discussion?

Two people added on the thegradcafe that they got into Berkeley. So either that person is also one of them, but if not that is 3 people who got in. Did anyone here hear back? I checked my portal and nothing.

do we know if berkeley or northwestern send out acceptances in batches?

Expand

Northwestern is historically batches. Acceptances roll out over a 5-day period. But even then, there are acceptances later than could be predicted. As always, we never truly know, but looks like they come out in groups based on subfield. This is confirmed by a data collection thing on Reddit and also by a person who was accepted into Northwestern for CP in the forum a couple of days ago. I hope this gives you some peace of mind! Again, these forums only theorize, and it is not an acceptance/rejection until it is one :) Rooting for you all!!!!!

I mean, Berkeley results at a saturday afternoon/night are already weird af; if Princeton is releasing today it will be the craziest season ever. I'd really take it with a grain of salt...

I didn’t see it instantly but to be fair they did say that the offer was issued on Friday.
