I wanted to create a thread for School Psych applicants, PhD or specialist level. Anyone else out there? Who's been lucky enough to get any interviews, or even acceptances?

I've been hoping to hear from Maryland because invites appear to have gone out. Have they extended all their interviews?

I'm not sure if they're done extending invites. I got an e-mail from them last week, the interview date is 2/14, so they could potentially be sending more out.

Congrats! That's great news. Do you mind if you PM me your stats? Just wanted an idea of how competitive the applicant pool is this year. The wait is driving me crazy. The only interview I've gotten so far is for UConn's School Psych program.

Did you apply to uconns school psych phd program or masters/6th year? I applied to the masters and am still waiting to hear if I got an interview. Hearing that you received an interview already makes me nervous! I am wondering if phd applicants and ma applicants hear at different times...

Hi! I applied to the PhD program. Sorry I can't really help you because I'm not sure of the interview process of the other program. Good luck!

Hi all,

I have a school psych phd interview this month at Cal, and I'm hoping to learn about other people's interview experiences so I can be as prepared as possible. For those of you who have interviewed at Cal (or any other school!) this year or previous years, would you mind sharing what kinds of questions you were asked?

Thank you!!

I've had two school psych interviews so far this application season. Here are some of the questions I've been asked:

-What are your research interests?

-Do you see your interests changing during your graduate studies?

-What do you want to do after you get your degree?

-How did you become interested in school psychology?

-What do you think a school psychologist does?

-What are some strengths you would bring to the program?

-Where do you have more room to learn?

That's all I can remember, hope it helps :)

Hi all!

So far I have/had interviews for School Psych PhD programs at South Carolina, Texas, Kentucky, Indiana, Tennessee, and Ball St (and have been accepted to South Carolina).

I'm still waiting to hear from Tulane, UMass -Amherst, Northern Colorado, and Lehigh. Has anyone heard anything out of there places? I also applied to Cal, but since I haven't heard anything and someone has, I'm guessing my prospects aren't looking too good there.

Hey there! I also applied to Lehigh, and have not heard back. However, from reading this forum and others, I do know their interview is being held this Friday. I'm not sure if they'll have another interview date. It might be worth it to contact them if they're high on your list.

What are the other forums you're looking at? I keep coming up with ones from applicants from 2009, etc.

I've applied to 5 programs, 3 PhD and 2 EdS programs. I had an interview for 1 PhD, will have both EdS interviews, was rejected from 1 PhD and have yet to hear from the last one! Good luck all :)

I'm applying for an Ed.S... so far, I've heard from GSU (accepted), UMass (interview), JMU (interview), and Ohio State (interview). Does anyone know how many people are accepted into each of these programs after interviewing? Also, has anyone heard from the College of William & Mary? Or the University of Delaware (they didn't even tell me I was rejected, but interviews were weeks ago??)?

whitK,

That's a bummer. U Del definitely already had interviews- one of my classmates applied there. Not sure if they'll send out more. As far as rejection letters go, I think some schools wait until March to send them out (not sure why, but it's pretty annoying).

I haven't received word from W&M's masters program either... let me know if you hear anything. Getting concerned ? Does the program even conduct interviews?

I know that interview invites already went out for the PsyD program at SUNY Albany, but has anyone heard from the CAS program there?

So far, I've heard back from the following schools:

Washington- PhD (just completed interview)

UConn- Masters/Sixth Year (accepted)

Lehigh- EdS (accepted)

UMd- PhD (ridiculously ambiguous email from them saying they're still reviewing my application, but pretty sure I'll be rejected given that interviews have already occurred)

GL!

Has anyone applied to the School Psychology Master's Program at Southern CT State University? If so, have you heard anything about interviews or had an interview?
