galsterner Posted December 10, 2025 Posted December 10, 2025 Grad psych student here and I am spending way too many evenings trying to turn mock sessions and case vignettes into halfway decent notes. I use general AI tools for essays, but they are not great for clinical style stuff. I am looking for something more like a hipaa compiiantĀ ai note taker for psychology, basically like an ai scribe for psych that can help me practice progress notes and case notes in a more structured way. Ideally it would be affordable, and if it has some kind of student discount that would be amazing, because my budget is pretty limited. If anyone has a tool they actually like and feel is worth paying for as a psych student, I would really appreciate recommendations. Julia Nicholson 1
jandier1 Posted December 10, 2025 Posted December 10, 2025 I have been in the same boat and the one tool I have actually stuck with is Twofold Health, which is an AI scribe built for mental health notes. I use it by pasting in mock sessions orĀ case material, letting it generate a clinical style note, then comparing that to what I wrote myself. It is much better at progress notes, risk, goals and follow up plans than the generic AI apps, so it has helped me learn how proper documentation should look rather than just giving me a pretty summary. They also have a student discount if you sign up with a uni email, so it ends up being pretty reasonable cost wise. For me it has been worth it mainly as a learning tool to improve my note structure and clinical wording. Julia Nicholson 1
