Moxie42 Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 And this one has proved to be the most effective! http://hyperboleandahalf.blogspot.com/ It's a blog with really funny pictures and stories, it's hilarious! I invite you to read this for hours of entertainment and distraction! joops and entertext 2
joops Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Also, www.neopets.com I find it oddly soothing. Sevi 1
aliciaw Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 I'd totally bump hyperboleandahalf. http://www.thebloggess.com is another mummified horror.
OnceAndFutureGrad Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 I hate to say it, but Hyperbole and a half always makes me feel better about my life. Her stories are very funny (and her ability to capture expressions in a crude computer drawing program is outstanding), but reading about the difficulties she faces getting through the day can be heartbreaking. For those historically inclined (or not), one must not miss Kate Beaton: http://www.harkavagrant.com/
nyrrac Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Somehow Cake wrecks and Stephan Pastis gets me through the day... http://cakewrecks.blogspot.com/ http://stephanpastis.wordpress.com/
entertext Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 The alot is classic! Also, http://theoatmeal.com/comics snes 1

I invite you to read this for hours of entertainment and distraction! awesome. loved it!! When seeking distraction, I like: http://www.theonion.com/ (political satire) http://www.nerve.com/news (articles about sex, love, taboo topics) http://armorgames.com/category/puzzle-skill (flash games, a definite way to waste some time)
lydibird Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 I second neopets. I love the games and earning virtual money. It makes me feel better about having no real money. Also I nominate mylifeisaverage. Whenever I start reading, it's hard not to go one for hours.
snes Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Most of my distractions are lower-brow than what's been posted here (my fave is Dlisted, http://dlisted.com), but I also enjoy Awkward Family photos (http://awkwardfamilyphotos.com) for quick procrastination when you don't want to read anything. But what really eats up my time: http://tvtropes.org !!!!
wanderlust07 Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Failbook and its parent site, failblog. Because some days I need to remind myself that no matter how much I fear failure, there are many people out there failing harder. And in more hilarious ways. drumms9980 1
