nclex Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 not according to the professor I spoke with...he specifically said you could apply during your first year at LBJ, and in fact, thats how most of them get in. I read somewhere on the website that you could only apply as a double degree student before matriculating at either McCombs or LBJ... is that true? if it aint, my balance is leaning towards UT heavily!

Hopefully the generous fellowship I received can at least partially (if not fully) be redistributed to those of you who are actually attending LBJ. Congratulations and good luck to all. Ive looked online and have found some classes offered, but was hoping someone out there, in the same situation as I am, might be able to recommend an affordable school/program. The class and test have to be offered entirely online. Thanks.

At the Open House yesterday, Pat Wong said that you can either fulfill the stat and econ pre-reqs by taking a course over the summer, or studying on your own and passing a test they'll give you around the start of school. He said they'll even give you the topics you'll need to know and study materials for the test. If you're the kind of person that's a good self-studier, could be a good option.

I'm sure if you went there they'd have a full bulletin of all the courses they offer, but since the courses vary so much by quarter I think the best bet is to just look through the past semester schedules to see what kinds of courses have been offered recently: http://www.utexas.edu/lbj/schedule

I think I'm a little crazy for giving up USC when I've been wanting to get back to California, where I'm from, for so many years. But it seems like the best option for me right now, with its combo of great lifestyle, solid program, and practically full funding offer. Am I going to see any of you there in August (or maybe before for Camp LBJ)?

Am I going to see any of you there in August (or maybe before for Camp LBJ)? I am in a similar position, albeit deciding between LBJ and Maxwell. I feel that LBJ is a better fit because of its location and opportunities. Everyone I've talked to speaks highly of UT and thinks that the trade-off between living in Austin and attending a higher ranked program is totally worth it.
