Sara_Rachel Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 What if you had to suggest someone whether to go for Univ A or B (when he has been accepted to both, while you have been waitlisted by A) I suggest tell them honestly. Do you think that someone would knowingly keep you away from the opportunity. Like they say, "its difficult to hurt someone when you know them."
rainbowworrier Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 But what if that person would be better off at A. I couldn't live with the guilt of having altered somebody's decision making process for my own gain.

But what if program A and B are almost similar and equally interesting and good..I mean what if this is the reason for the other person's confusion.
rainbowworrier Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 It still wouldn't feel right to me. What if the tables were reversed? Do unto others...
LouWho Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 But you're not forcing them to choose option B; ultimately, it's still their choice.
everygirl Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 I guess its kind of like giving the person more information with which to make their choice...
