  1. I emailed yesterday, haven't gotten a response yet.
  2. So I still have not heard anything from the graduate program I applied for. I see no results on the results page here, but it's a relatively small program (generally around 30 applicants) so it's possible no one else that applied is on here. It says on the general admissions site for the college that in mid april if you still haven't heard to contact the department, even though it may take until mid-may for decisions to be made. So my question is who do I contact? My poi (whom I met with before I applied, and he helped perfect my application)? The department secretary? Department coordinator? Department academic advisor? Thanks in advance.
  3. Still haven't heard anything, and it doesn't appear anyone has heard from my program yet. sigh.
  4. I'm in the exact same boat. If it's a no, just tell me so I can start searching for a job. Last I heard my program was arguing about money, and there's no results on the results page. :/
  5. This. So much of it comes down to your individual research interest and how they match the research interests of the professors in the program. There's also funding issues, etc, etc.
  6. The waiting is killing me. I had met with my PoI before application season had really started. He had reviewed my full application, transcripts, personal statement, and made a few suggestions, said he wanted me in his lab. So I'm hopeful, but nervous.
  7. But you're not forcing them to choose option B; ultimately, it's still their choice.
  8. Your POI flat out told you they were pressed for time on Monday and Tuesday. I'm assuming the time frame you're talking about is this week. In which case, I wouldn't expect an answer until Wednesday.
  9. I totally relate to the compulsive email checking. I have a smart phone, so it should automatically come through and put the nice little icon in the corner of my screen when I have a new email. Somehow, I've lost faith in that, so now I log into my email account through my phone to make sure that it is correct in saying nothing came through. I feel neurotic, lol.
  10. Your "get a puppy" line made me laugh! I refuse to email my department to find out what's going on. I met with my POI in September, he helped me perfect my personal statement, and reviewed everything before I applied, and showed a lot of interest. I've checked the results page on here religiously, and it appears no one from that division has heard anything. So I just try to stay busy, and of course have the occasional worry session.

    Camden, NJ

This is solid advice. Camden has been on the most dangerous cities in the US list consistently since 2002 (almost always in the top 3 at that). There's a significant level of poverty and unemployment which contributes to the crime. If it were me, I'd look at on-campus housing options or thoroughly read reviews of apartments before deciding where to live.
