ALSimon, that's awesome!! I've had so many Fulbright dreams. Also, I've gotten two campus emails this week about "FULBRIGHT INFO SESSION!" It's like they're TRYING to kill me.

The Fulbright wait, along with term projects piling up and qualifying papers looming is starting to take its toll on my health = /

you're not alone! although i don't like that we are all suffering slowly by not knowing the status of our futures, it is nice to know that other people share my pain.

First time poster/long time lurker,

I recently received an email which said they need two of my passport pictures and a copy of the photo page of my passport in order to get a visa started. However, the email also stated that this request does make it definite that I have received the grant.

I sent in everything they requested but have yet to hear a final decision.

Anyone else get a similar request?

For those of you who have received a Fulbright to Taiwan (ETA or Research), come join us on our Facebook group! If you search for "Fulbright Taiwan, 2012-2013", you *should* be able to find us. Please let me know if anybody has trouble finding it!

are you full/eta? what country? I haven't seen anything like that in my email but it sounds like a good sign.

Does anyone know anything about Sub-Saharan Africa? I saw from a few previous posts that some people had been in contact with Jermaine. Does anyone know when we will hear, or if we will hear by email, mail to current address, mail to permanent address, etc.

Best of luck everyone!

Speaking of numbers, has anyone been keeping track of how many countries have notified thus far? I have a feeling we're over the hump now! Hang tight, everybody!

We've just barely made it over the hump according to the spreadsheet... out of the 81 countries that are represented on the sheet, it looks like applicants to 41.5 (0.5 being Turkey full grants) countries have gotten responses so far.

Now we've just got... 39.5 left! :)

And just so you didn't think you were alone in your mind-numbing wait, here's the list of countries that are left:

Armenia, Bangladesh, Bosnia, Cambodia, Canada, China, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Egypt, Estonia, Ghana, Hong Kong, Israel, Jamaica, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kyrgyz Republic, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Malta, Mauritius, Montenegro, Morocco, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Russia, Rwanda, Serbia, Sierra Leone, Singapore, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, Tanzania, Turkey (ETA), Ukraine, Venezuela.

We're almost there! A lot of people were told mid-April and that's only 4 days away!!!

What should I do?

My deadline to accept the offer to my grad school is the 15th (which is Sunday, so really - do they mean Friday? Or Monday?) I STILL haven't heard re Fulbright (Spain, Full).

I'm going to wait one more day but by tomorrow, I feel like really need to contact my school. It's the only offer I received; it's full funding, with a TA Stipend, and I'm very much interested in working with the professors there.

So what happens? Do I accept the offer and then if I get the Fulbright, ask for a deferral? Should I be upfront and honest with them that I'm waiting to hear back and if I hear, I'll definitely accept? Or do I just accept and then hope like crazy they will defer/be understanding?

ARRRGGHH!!!!

I would recommend you find out immediately if a deferal is an option. Some schools offer deferals and some very strictly do not. This also opens up a dialogue with the school where they may be willing to extend the acceptance due date give the circumstances.

Those applying ETA/Grant to Ukraine and Russia... think Belarus might be notified at the same time? Eastern Europe all tends to be lopped together...

I am waiting to hear about an ETA Belarus, and I am unsure my heart can take it!

Anyone else recommended for Belarus ??

Thanks!

You forgot Belarus ETA!

You forgot Togo, West Africa

Hey folks, I think Biz was just going off of what's currently listed in the spreadsheet, which you can access here:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AuGpbWEh-3b0dHZzTU1BN0lNLU1yeG5XWktnY2k3bmc#gid=0

If you'd like your information added to the spreadsheet, you can send an e-mail to fulbright.12.13@gmail.com and it will get posted with the rest :)
