creacher Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Is double majoring in Aerospace eng and Astronomy more impressive than majoring in Quantum Physics and Astronomy for grad school (PHD in Astronomy?)
waddle Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 neither combination is impressive if you don't do well. doing multiple majors just to make your application more "impressive" is probably excessive, and the effort might be better spent on research or other extracurriculars. good luck Strangefox, cunninlynguist, lambspam and 2 others 5
Eigen Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 I would say it completely depends on what you want to do within astronomy- they each give you a very different skill set to work with, and would set you on (in my mind) a different path.
wtncffts Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 I agree with the above, but also: how about doing what you're passionate about, rather than thinking about this strategically? It won't be impressive if you can't show passion for something you only chose because you thought it would look good.
