Just curious: would ye happy Stanford admits tell us your subfield and research area? I think I noticed a couple IR? Might be easier to gauge is they are truly "done" to see if all subfields are accounted for. Stanford staggering is killing me. :(

These staggered POI emails are killing me. Just send out one mass email at once schools!! :D

Unfortunately, as was the case with Michigan and MIT, the one mass email rarely is good

Is Cornell speedy this year? Btw, this is what absolutely real news look like, 6 posts in very short time, with matching details. That's a wave of admissions, the Yale one has been so sporadic so far.

To be fair, I only looked at the results table, but is it just me or is NYU not included in this analysis at all? Anybody know why? At first I thought maybe it just drops their rank so low, but they place pretty well, and these rankings go down pretty low. They seem to be the only school I applied to not included in that table.

I've wondered that myself, actually. In any event, I think most placement rankings are not going to be able to evaluate NYU well, given that the faculty was so radically reshaped, and they've only had a couple years of students that have gone through with the new faculty. You'd be better off just looking at the raw data:

Hi, everyone!

First time poster, long time lurker. I posted today's Columbia acceptance -- got an email from POI earlier to let me know that I had been accepted with fellowship (details forthcoming). I am also in at Stanford, Michigan and Berkeley's Jurisprudence and Social Policy program so far, with concentrations in political philosophy/legal theory/public law.

Good luck to everyone still waiting, and I'd love to be in touch with anyone planning to attend admitted students events at any of the schools mentioned above!

Thanks, yeah. Their placements seem really good. The grad students working in my area are producing work I'm interested in. Obviously there are profs I'm excited about. All-in-all I'm pretty thrilled with that acceptance (since I seem not to be getting into other places I applied, I'm starting to wonder if they made a mistake!). I was just wondering why it was left off that list altogether.

This waiting is killing me. Other than the mass email from MIT, I haven't heard from any PhD program. I was so geared up to hear from Columbia today....hopefully it happens in the next two hours!! Good luck to everyone, congrats to the posted Columbia admit, and to all others that heard today.

Nope -- David Johnston in theory.

Got a call from a number I didn't recognize. I was so hopeful that I was finally going to hear from one of my programs. Nope. It was the photography studio taking care of my school's senior portraits calling to remind me of my appointment. :(

Also, I emailed Chicago to see if they were done with admits. No word yet, but I'll inform anyone wondering once/if I hear back.

Hi,

I've been lurking here for quite a long time, and now posting for the first time.

I am claiming one of the Cornell acceptances.

Congrats to everyone who received acceptances today!

What's your subfield?

I'm claiming another Cornell admit. Lovely email; 5 years full funding.

The drought has ended!

Cornell acceptance. Pretty dauntingly exciting to know that I'll be in the US within half a year.

Congrats!!! I know the feeling; felt the same way after Wisconsin.

Also, is it just me, or is the gradcafe server not built to handle mid-February? :P

Very often times the web shows "too many requests, try later", I believe in some midnights they even crash the server, since I occasionally would see "504 gateway time out" sign

Congratulations, L119! I've applied to Berkeley's JSP program as well and have not heard anything. So I guess that must be a reject. Good for you! Your profile must be very impressive. Were you the person who posted acceptance into the program more than a week back?

Thank you! I was the one that posted -- heard back on Friday, February 3rd. I am not sure where they are at in terms of admissions decision, but I am speaking to someone from there tomorrow and can poke around a bit. Good luck!
