Just got a letter from DGS at Madison (small envelope) dated 2/2. Department has recommended me for admission. Excerpt: "The Graduate School will be notifying you once your admission has been finalized. I will also be providing you with more details of your funding package. For now rest assured that you are guaranteed full tuition, a stipend, and inexpensive health care coverage for at least five years as you make normal progress through the program." Visit dates are 3/26-27.

So if you applied here, go check those mailboxes! Of course, mail may take a couple days longer to get to non-Midwestern locations...

If you remember your student ID, can you do us a favor and tell us what it says for your status? This will help those of us away from our mailboxes to know whether we have a shot...

ugh i cant stand the stress of not hearing a peep from any of the schools applied to. i feel like calling some of these schools and asking for the status of my application.. :?

By all means, Big Cheese. Just please let us know what you find out

My status at my.wisc.edu is also still Pending, and if I click through it reads "Your application has been received and is under review. Please refer to this page for updates."

I'm guessing this is because of what the letter says about just being recommended for admission by the department and the grad school needing to finalize my admission. So don't take the lack of an online update as a bad sign.

I am perfectly willing to tell anyone who PMs me. I just don't want it to be on the website, in case I am the only one who knows yet, and in case adcoms check this site...I know I am paranoid:)

It's probably because they're getting close to release results. Yale is always this week...or very early next week.

Hang in there! :)

I had heard that Yale is mid-March. Am I the only one who thinks that? I'd be thrilled about being wrong here. All i have is this stupid little 3 X 5 with the dates written down for projected acceptances from all my programs... but I have no idea where I got this information anymore.

When do I get "caffeinated," dammit!

I see Stanford have started notifying a few social sciences people. They're the people I expect to hear from first and I'm beginning to think they might notify this week. Nervous doesn't cover it at the minute.

Yale, according to the forum, has letters out by the end of this week last year and the year before. Did you hear something from actual faculty about this year specifically? If not, it may be wrong.

Take a look at the results search. "Yale Political Science."

Oh I still remember my Yale rejection from last year. I think it was February 6th or 7th.

It was my first rejection, and boy did it hurt.

So I don't think you guys wanna hear from Yale just yet.

Two for two! Wisconsin comes in with five years of full funding. I'm totally excited -- there are a lot of faculty there that I want to work with. :)
