So Princeton Theological Seminary requires an interview. I'm not sure if I should put this question in the "Interview" section or in the "Religion" section - but does anyone here go to PTS and had an interview? Or even if you don't attend, did anyone have an interview there anyway?

Or, conversely, does anyone have any idea what to expect when going in for an MDiv interview as part of the application process? I'm not entirely sure what to prepare for.

I am also applying to PTS and had an interview last month. It only lasted about 15 minutes, and it was very low-key. It certainly isn't anything to be worried about. There were mostly questions that had to do with diversity, favorite theologian(s), why PTS, etc.

Hello! I am a student at PTS and the interview was perhaps my favorite part of the process and I now have a great relationship with my interviewer. It truly is nothing to worry about. There are many different people on staff you might interview with and they are all very fabulous. When I interviewed it was with the director of field education and when my boyfriend interviewed last month it was with my Greek Exegesis prof. Who you interview with dctates the topics covered. My interview focused on my past and what I plan to do with my life where other people ended up talking about favorite books, theologians, etc. If you have any questions about PTS and the process feel free to ask! :)

Thanks so much to you both! I had my interview last week, and I didn't rock the universe with it (on the spot is always so hard!) but I loved who I spoke with (Ruth-Aimee) and feel like I came away with a much better picture of PTS. Submitted my application yesterday - three applications submitted, two left to go! Sheesh, this is stressful! Presbygeek, how long did it take for you to find out once you submitted your application?

Not to hijack the thread but what is the average range of GPA for PTS' Masters program

Email them, they will likely tell you. it's prolly something around 3.6-7? I think that was the average last year at YDS.

I'm presently in enrolled at PTS in the M.Div. program. And I have a huge suspicion that I know who you are Presbygeek!!! lol. Anyway, it doesn't take too long to hear back from admissions about a decision. I would guess that the average GPA range for students is 3.4-3.8. It depends on your demographic too, i.e. denomination, race, gender, etc. PTS likes diversity a lot so they're more flexible for certain demographics. For example, my undergrad has a tradition of sending grads to PTS because its a Pentecostal school and PTS likes to pick up that diversity even if the average GPA isn't as high as the average Presbyterians. It just depends...
