Abiogenic Gas Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 I emailed MIT regarding the waitlist and I received a reply telling me the slot was filled and I wouldn't be accepted.
skinkididoo Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 One of my friends already was accepted to the geochem program at Berkeley (but she's not accepting), which makes me think none of us were selected in their first round... In other news, I'm flying to Stanford today...
burntcheezits Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 Has anyone heard anything from and/or about University of Colorado at Boulder? I applied to the M.S. program there, and haven't heard back from them yet. They're sort of the only school I'm waiting on before I commit to another school that I might like better anyway. (Well, I'm still waiting on UOregon but I've pretty much given up hope) I really want to let the other school know now, but I'm not sure what I'll do if I get in to Boulder. I'm a little worried that since Boulder is a pretty huge program, the M.S. students might not be treated as equally as the PhD students.... I definately can't go to Boulder if they don't give me funding anyway...do schools like this usually give funding to M.S. students? Or do they focus mostly on the PhD students? Any thoughts?
skinkididoo Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Hopefully everyone has heard from most of your schools now! I just got admitted to Stanford. I enjoyed my visit there so much, I am almost definitely going to accept and not wait to hear from Berkeley. Good luck everyone!
solefolia Posted April 8, 2009 Author Posted April 8, 2009 I think I'm in the same boat as whoever posted recently about the Penn State waitlist. Geomicrobiology is my area as well. Not sure if they post on the forums or not, but good luck all the same. I hope we hear back soon! The deadline is coming up so fast.
Abiogenic Gas Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 So today's the 15th...Anyone hear from Berkeley?
geoengineer Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 I haven't (heard from Berkeley). I'll be at BU I think...it was the "lowest ranked" school I got into, but I really liked the department and my adviser!
fortunate Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 I also haven't heard anything from Berkeley. It seems it takes a lot of time to make a decision.
skinkididoo Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Nothing from Berkeley for me either... Where is everyone going next fall?
skinkididoo Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 speak of the devil... I just got an email rejecting me... whatever dudes, Stanford is where I wanted to go anyways
Abiogenic Gas Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Got a reject from Berkeley but I don't care. geoengineer, I think I might be going to BU too (assuming it's Boston University)! May I ask who your advisor would be? It was the only school I got into (besides the one I'm at right now) and my other option is to start working. I haven't decided yet but have until Friday.
