Thought I'd start a thread so we can consolidate some information I've seen scattered around re: ways to check the status on our applications.

For my schools, I think that only Michigan and CU-Boulder have separate websites where I can log in and see what application materials have been "logged in" as received (and then proceed to freak out, etc). For the others, some of them have a little bit of information about LORs, maybe GREs as received, but I wish they all had a dedicated place where we could check without having to harass the department or grad school.

So, who else has schools that have this status-checking ability? I'm asking this in the hopes that someone will point out that another of my schools does too. : )

What's also killing me is the ones that say "oh yeah, some part will say Incomplete even if they aren't." Well how then am I supposed to really know if it is complete or if I have a problem witht the applicaiton?!

I just signed up for the "Friend Account" at Michigan.

It says that they received my undergrad transcript yesterday and there is no mention of my MA transcript. I mailed that forever ago, so they must just now be updating the system. That is my guess, at least.

Has anyone figured out how to check if materials were received at Stanford short of calling the dept.? After reading somewhere about a guy calling to check on his LOR's and finding out he'd been rejected, I'm trying to avoiding calling in anywhere... too fragile for that shizz.

I remember last year when I applied to U Florida, their website never updated online. I freaked out calling the department and the woman that answered the phone was like yea...that thing doesn't update. Why have one if it isn't going to update? That's why I took the executive decision to just reach out to contact persons to confirm receipt of everything, even if the website says so.

I figured out only today that when you go to the "main" page for that application system (Apply Web, I think? I have four apps in that system), instead of clicking on the app links--the links to see your app or print the PDF--click on the name of the school itself and the list of materials should show up underneath. Does that make sense?

Turns out all my Stanford materials are there, but not my other schools. And I still can't find a way to check UCLA or USC at all, so I've emailed those and the other schools that seem to have missing things. Ugh.

I emailed my department at Michigan the other day and they said they're going through everything this week, and that they'll call/email people with missing parts of their application package.

Brilliant, thanks!

My experience this app season has taught me: when in doubt, call. I called one school because it said that they were missing transcripts that I had sent out more than a month prior to deadline, and every other school had received it. I got a similar response as a poster above: "Oh, we have it...the website doesn't update all the time." My sentiments exactly with the person above- why have it if I have to call anyway? ;)

Hi, I'm new. CU-Boulder just sent me a very friendly message to say that my app is complete, and that:

"The committees will 'hopefully' be meeting the 2nd to 3rd week in February and notification from them should be to you by no later than March 15th."

If anyone's applied and hasn't received that message, you might want to contact them.

Yes, I received this email, too. Twice. Very lovely...I wish it were an acceptance email.

All in due time.

All of the tech stuff has been the most confusing part of this process for me. When I had to create my student account with OSU to check my application status, I was like, "what is this button, and this, BEEP BOP BOOOP I am using technology."
