mathgirl28
Does anyone know which programs interview. I see that Yale and Duke does. Do any others?
dasgut
mathgirl28, Do you know if Yale has already started doing interviews?
mathgirl28
I saw someone post a yale interview for statistics on the results page (but after browsing i no longer see it). It might have been fake. I actually wanted to know about interviews for general preparation purposes. I had guessed that the stats programs i applied to didn't interview at all. I didn't apply to Yale or Duke, but other top 10 schools and i was wondering which of those interviews. Does anyone know?
dasgut
I personally kinda find it hard to believe. Only ONE b-school stats program I applied to is doing interviews and if anyone's gonna do interviews, it's gonna be a b-school.

wine in coffee cups
I was curious about this too and pulled up the historical thegradcafe data. Some evidence of PhD statistics interviews (email, phone, or on campus): Yale Florida State UMD UIUC Rochester Duke UCSB Oxford University of South Carolina Michigan Rutgers Case Western
dasgut
I actually looked at the historical data just now and all I saw was the 2012 interview. What were your search terms?
wine in coffee cups
I ran this search: http://thegradcafe.com/survey/index.php?q=statistic*&t=a&pp=250 and within each of the 9 pages I looked for the word "interview" or "visit" and used my judgment. dasgut
Now, I definitely find it hard to believe Yale has offered interviews. I submitted my app pretty early and I just today got an email saying it's been forwarded to the adcom. R Deckard
supremum
Just got a Yale Statistics PHD Interview Request. Anyone have any clue what they're going to ask?? I'm guessing it's going to be something like, "so, tell us about your honors thesis...so, what research are you interested in...so, why do you like yale" ?? dasgut
I just got one too! I have no idea what to do or how to prepare for it. I'm just going to read their website religiously. R Deckard and supremum 1
