Religious Ethics

Anyone apply to a religious ethics Ph.D program. Have you heard anything yet? Just wondering who else is out there.

All of my apps were under some category of ethics, and I have not heard anything yet. Where have you applied?

Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Emory, and Duke. It seems most don't announce until later in the month.

I have also applied to Princeton under the program of ethics. I am praying for an acceptance. There is really not any other place where I would like to conduct doctoral study.

I've always heard it helps at Princeton if you're a Presbyterian, but maybe that's just what the rest of us say in our non-Presbyterian ressentiment.

Hmm. Are you referencing Princeton Seminary or the Department of Religion at Princeton University? I would think in the case of the latter, religious idenification would not have any bearing given the department's lack of connection to a specific religious tradition. I applied to the Department of Religion at Princeton. Have the rest of you applied to the Department of Religion at Princeton or to Princeton Seminary?

I applied to the department of religion. I am guessing they don't start notifying until the end of Feb. or beginning of March. The wait is so hard!

I now think that my proposal would have fit better through the seminary, but I applied through the dept. of religion at Princeton.

On Jan. 23, Emory's GDR website announced their Finalists Weekend. I think all of the finalists in their ten courses of study were contacted two weeks ago. Other than Notre Dame's Finalist Weekend (Feb. 26-28), I don't know about any other schools.
