Chiqui74 Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 (edited) Interesting. I've always understood the differences between the three to be rather prominent. Certainly, they worship the same entities and read from the same scripture, but their method of practice and (historically) their politics seem to be a major point of division between all three collectives. The scriptures are not completely the same. The Catholic church (both Roman and Orthodox) uses the bible with apocrypha, the books that were taken out during the Reformation. These books do not appear in Protestant bibles. Edited for typos. Edited April 2, 2012 by Chiqui74

hbeels Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 In the 1830s, Mexico passed a set of anti-immigration laws to prevent Americans from moving into what is now Texas. Interesting turn of events.
aec09g Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 Two words: bat bombs. Created during World War II, incendiary bombs were attached to bats with the intention of using them against Japan, but because the research went so slowly, the funding for the bat bombs was taken away and given to Project Manhattan, aka the atomic bomb. Still hilarious that they wanted to use bats for bombing.
Weepsie Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 Warren Angus Ferris surveyed what is now Dallas at least two years before John Neely Bryan established a permanent settlement. He is also credited with the first written description of the geysers of Yellowstone. His diary is not quite as famous as some of the other mountain men, but detailed enough nonetheless
