PhDreams Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 Has anyone gotten any news yet? February is officially the longest month of the year.
Metapod Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 Nothing yet..I see that we applied to the same schools (HGSE, SUSE, TC)... which programs did you apply to?
PhDreams Posted February 3, 2012 Author Posted February 3, 2012 HGSE- AIE, SUSE- POLS, TC- Bilingual/Bicultural What about you?
Metapod Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 HGSE - IEP SUSE- IEAPA TC- IED I'm getting really nerous now.......haha
PhDreams Posted February 3, 2012 Author Posted February 3, 2012 I'm nervous too! Only a few weeks left until the results are in....
PhDreams Posted February 3, 2012 Author Posted February 3, 2012 According to the results from last year, it's more like 4-5. SUSE has results in around March 2nd. HGSE- March 9. TC too.
Metapod Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 (edited) REALLY???/ wow...................................................................I need to be studying for my chinese test tmr but I cannot concentrate at ALL Edited February 3, 2012 by bigred65
PhDreams Posted February 3, 2012 Author Posted February 3, 2012 Concentration? Bahhhhhahahahhhaha I don't know what that is anymore. I'm on grad app autopilot.
Metapod Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 seriously. this is ridiculous. i've been trying to find out more about the current studenst in IEP, but it's hard...
PhDreams Posted February 3, 2012 Author Posted February 3, 2012 I met a few on my visit. I was considering EPM before I decided to apply to AIE. Have you already checked out the profiles of alumni on the HGSE website? Also, I've seen that people have looked up programs on LinkedIn to get a feel for the background of current cohort members. I haven't tried it, but it was recommended on a thread.
Metapod Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 yeah...i looked up ppl on linkedin. I'm just really concerned because my GRE score was surprisingly really low....a lot lower than i expected. And it feels like many have worked for at least 3-4 years before goingto grad school....
PhDreams Posted February 3, 2012 Author Posted February 3, 2012 http://www.gse.harvard.edu/admissions/live/class_profile.html Don't freak out! 4.4 is the average for EdM students, but if you notice the stats the range starts at 0. So, that would mean that there have been students admitted with no prior work experience. Stay positive!
Metapod Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 i knowwww but stilllllll. i'm like freaking over everything right now....hahah. Are you currently working/studying?
PhDreams Posted February 3, 2012 Author Posted February 3, 2012 both. but it looks like you have work experience relevant to your program! don't freak out... plus it looks like you have some research experience too! and gre medians are just that...medians. People have gotten in with scores lower and higher.
Metapod Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 thanks for the encouragement...I hope we'll hear good news in coming weeks...
PhDreams Posted February 3, 2012 Author Posted February 3, 2012 You're welcome! We're all here for each other on the fora. It's really helped me to talk to other applicants too. Best of luck to you! You seem like you are really dedicated to your field. Any program would be lucky to have you!
PhDreams Posted February 8, 2012 Author Posted February 8, 2012 I've heard from Vanderbilt and Michigan. I think Higher Ed decisions come out a little sooner than other programs at Michigan. I'm excited that MA applicants are starting to get news. Congrats, again!
eunice19 Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Did Vanderbilt send a decision about IEPM already?
Revo Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Thanks Double Shot and bigred65! Good luck and happy e-mails/letters to all.
PhDreams Posted February 14, 2012 Author Posted February 14, 2012 I feel like the MA candidates should start to hear something soon. Most PhD decisions seem like they have been made already. So nervous!!!!!!!!
