tauren Posted February 22, 2012 Author Posted February 22, 2012 Hopefully more of us come out of the wood works and maybe we can start a Facebook group or some thing so we can all connect. I'm still looking for a place to live. I don't know if I'm looking too early or all the good places are taken, but I'm having little luck.

rstabile Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Hi all, I'm actually at UMD for grad school, but i just graduated from Penn State last year so I thought I'd drop in and give you all some recommendations for around SC. Best Mexican Food: Rey Azteca. It's out by the mall... If you google map it, it's really easy to find. Seriously though, this place is incredible. It opened when I was a sophomore and within a few months they knew me by name. So, so good. I miss it terribly. Best Wings: Wings Over happy valley, though if you live out by Vairo blvd or farther, they won't deliver to you. Best pizza: The Brothers at the bottom of old main lawn Best bar to avoid undergrads at: Darkhorse Tavern Enjoy State College. I didn't appreciate it nearly as much as I do now that I'm no longer there, but it's really an awesome place to live. Plus you guys are lucky you're not living on a stipend near DC.
Sogni Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 Anybody else moving to State College, PA in the Fall?
Deadmeat Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 Hey Sogni, I'm moving there in Fall as well for my PhD program. Did you find an apartment yet? I'd advise you to start looking it was tough, but then again I had strict requirements (single, for grads only). Have you visited yet? I don't know a single person there.
Sogni Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Yeah, I started off wanting a single but I don't know about my funding yet so it's all up in the air..... My plan is to visit in the upcoming week sometime to check out the campus and look at some places. I agree, State College seems to be a tough location to find apartments on a budget. Luckily, someone from my undergrad program is also going to Penn State in the Fall so at least I'll know one person
