Isaac Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 I don't know whether this is good sign, a bad sign, or just means I'm thinking too hard. Arggg. Some people have heard from the schools I applied...
riss287 Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Hang in there! I'm in the same boat and I know others are as well. If anything, just stay positive. You haven't been rejected until you actually get rejected. At least, that's what I'm telling myself!
miratrix Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Neither have I, and neither has my roommate who's also in comp sci. No worries. It's early.
barry_86404 Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Every department at the schools notify at different times. So just because one department at your school notified doesn't mean anything
ndufour Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 haha i know. Goddamn U of Wash Seattle should get back to me! I can't wait forever!!! grrrr
vern23 Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 I have also heard nothing and its driving me crazy. I almost dread checking my email now because I can't take the no new email notification. Don't these schools know what kind of torture this is cant they just let us know one way or another, why does it have to take so long.
arienandthesun Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 same situation here. I was just writing the above line, then I received an email from CUNY, positive one but not funding yet.
misterpat Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 You haven't been rejected until you actually get rejected. Well, aren't you a philosopher? I am in the same boat as everyone in this thread. I would even welcome a rejection from one of my schools at this point just to feel less neurotic about absuing the status-check websites.

From past experiences nothing good comes from letters so soon. Late Feb and early March you'll start hearing. I haven't even began to start looking for them

I haven't even began to start looking for them That is somewhat reassuring. But there are people being admitted to a couple programs I applied to in the results section. That doesn't do much to assuage my nerves.
Isaac Posted February 9, 2009 Author Posted February 9, 2009 just got rejected from stanford. guess i wasn't being paranoid after all (people have been posting acceptances to stanford cs for a week now).
BigCheese Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Yale Political Science dept been notifying in massive numbers since friday... and i haven't heard a damn thing. Try calling the school and all i get is attitude, email the department and no response. its like really... is it necessary to drag this process out for days...

This is how my brain operates after clicking "Email" five times a minute and getting on here to check results and overall just having a nervous breakdown!
illinoisellie Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 I think as long as you've applied to a large enough range of schools, you should be lucky and get in to a couple... At least, I hope that's true.
Nikki Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 I haven't heard anything yet either! The wait is slowly killing me....
miratrix Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Sorry to hear that, Isaac :/ I'll have to be the contrary one here, though. I'd definitely rather wait another month for an acceptance than get a rejection tomorrow. In fact, I expect to (wait, that is, not get all acceptances).
