nablaa Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 I have been accepted to EECS and will be attending in the fall!
Aphiobmhor Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 I will be going there for archaeology! I'm local, so let me know if anyone from out-of-state has questions about what it's like to live here.
procrustean_bed Posted July 28, 2012 Posted July 28, 2012 I'm in PMB, moving to North Berkeley in a couple of weeks.
drglasner Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 accepted the offer to the School of Public Health for Fall 2013 today. PhD in Infectious Diseases and Immunity!
ssk2 Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 Hello, I'll be joining the EECS MEng program starting in Fall 2013. PM me if you're also joining the MEng program (EECS and otherwise)!Â
Bhrigu Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 Hey guys,  Anyone planning to stay at the ihouse? I have been offered a spot but I am still wondering whether $13,535/year (with meals) is worth it.  Exactly how much more expensive it is compared to off-campus housing? Can anyone staying there guide me about expenses, are there any hidden costs? How much noise is generated by construction activity? Which floor/rooms are the quietest?  If there are no red flags any idea which rooms have a Bay view? I can choose accordinglyÂ
Platysaurus Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 (edited) Hey I just got an offer for anthropology (sociocultural), I'll be seeing you guys in the fall! Â I'm in SF at the moment and will visit the campus tomorrow, it was a little hard accepting for a place I'd never visited before since I'd been to a few other prospective student weekends but I'm sure it'll be worth it. Â Any other internationals? ssk2 you're a pom, right? Edited April 17, 2013 by Platysaurus
Platysaurus Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 Hey after doing all the registration online crap I keep trying and failing to log into my Berk email account, other people having the same trouble? Just wanted to check whether I have to wait a little longer or there's a specific problem with my account.
anaZep Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 First time I notice this thread, but I, too, will be at Cal in the fall, also at the College of Environmental Design (MCP). Â I'm SO excited!!! Â Moving from Boston to Berkeley and counting down the days!! Â Platysaurus: Â I definitely experiences issues after I signed up for Berkeley email. Â I had to contact the webmaster and reset my password (that process itself took several days. Â Supposedly the main IT guy was on vacation ), but I haven't experienced any problems since. Â Good luck!
Platysaurus Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Well, turns out you have to create the berkeley email separately to the CalNET ID. Â That was slightly foolish on my part.
strawberry fields Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Anyone heading to Berkeley this fall?
seeingeyeduck Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Leaning toward it but haven't gotten the official acceptance letter or funding offer yet...
strawberry fields Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Me either! Just the email acceptance - supposed to get the rest next week. I've heard this is the norm for Berkeley. seeingeyeduck 1
seeingeyeduck Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Oooo! That is good to know. It makes me nervous not to have the official notice, like it isn't real yet! Are you definitely attending in the fall or are you still choosing?
strawberry fields Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 (edited) It's my first choice school, so pretty sure! (unless funding is not what I was told it would be...) Â And, yes, the email acceptance makes me nervous too!!! Edited February 26, 2014 by strawberry fields astreaux 1
PhoenixKing Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 I'm headed to Berkeley this fall, too! As for official acceptances, I got mine about a week after receiving my unofficial notice (which I received over phone, incidentally). I totally sympathize with the nervousness, though--it didn't seem quite real to me until the Graduate Division sent me their notarized offer!
seeingeyeduck Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Yes, yes, let's get the notaries involved ASAP! Lol I got the unofficial email on the 7th and haven't heard a peep since. Going on three weeks now, but I looked through old threads and it seems like the funding offers happen in early march. PhoenixKing - did you also hear about funding or fellowships?
PhoenixKing Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 (edited) The Department representative who called me only briefly mentioned funding; she said that a formal letter would arrive with more details (though she didn't specify when that letter would arrive). I think we should receive our funding offers sometime in March, though. Edited February 27, 2014 by PhoenixKing
strawberry fields Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 (edited) I got my email offer last Thurs. and was told I would get the official offer letter and funding information the first week in March - so hopefully we'll all get them next week! Edited February 27, 2014 by strawberry fields
