novelgirl Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 Congrats Niki -- for which concentration? I also got into Columbia for their part-time Magazine concentration -- super excited!
nikim89 Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 novelgirl, I'm magazine too! But full time We'll be studying together!
karmapolice Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 Me too, novelgirl and nikim89. (I've also been accepted to NYU magazine and Medill)
nikim89 Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 karmapolice, are you definitely choosing Columbia? I also got into Medill, but i wanted to be in NYC, especially for a magazine concentration. And I got waitlisted at NYU, so I'm just accepting Columbia
karmapolice Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 Nikim89, I'm going with Columbia. For me, it was a toss up between Medill and Columbia.
journerdalist Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 Berkeley - Accepted (funding) Northwestern - Accepted (funding) Columbia - Accepted (no funding, I don't think) I'm torn.
nikim89 Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 Journerdalist, I was trying to decide between Medill and Columbia, and CU won out because of the location and course. I'm doing magazine journalism, and there is really no better place to be than NYC. Also, it seems that Columbia integrates digital media in its classes - there's also the Delacorte lecture series for magazine writers. Honestly, it depends on your concentration, but for me, it was a no-brainer. And I didn't get into Berkeley haha!
