pessimist1234 Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 A professor responded to an email I sent, and she mentioned a new project she would be starting in the near future and told me to let her know if I was interested. I responded to her e-mail, but haven't heard back.
pessimist1234 Posted March 9, 2012 Author Posted March 9, 2012 It was earlier this week. Think she maybe looking over my application materials?
pessimist1234 Posted March 9, 2012 Author Posted March 9, 2012 (edited) I also mentioned being fascinated about her techniques and how you would start a project from the beginning. Edited March 9, 2012 by pessimist1234
steeloatmeal Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 I would think that if it was a general "are you interested" it would mean the prof is checking a few applicants and looking for the best fit. If it was just you, they're waiting for the committee to first accept you. One prof's interest can make the difference but it doesn't guarantee admissions.
Bionerd2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Does having a professor recommend you to the AdCom increase your chance of acceptance?

Semester Photon Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 I agree with the others. At this point don't read too much into it. Maybe followup with the Professor after a week or so of silence. Professors are very busy people.
