TripWillis Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Has anyone seen this before? It's my favorite spoof on cultural theory. "But it's empty." "But of course.": wreckofthehope, Galoup11, Enzian and 6 others 9

asleepawake Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 I couldn't even lol at this one cause mostly I was thinking the guy had a good point... I might have a problem. Yup. It's only funny because it's true... the more theory you read, the harder and harder it is to not think about theory. Somewhere in between the half-laughs I was thinking that I want to attend his panel. At least we can write for the Onion when we graduate. JeremiahParadise and veniente 2
perrykm2 Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 Reminds me of a bit from White Noise: "I understand the music, I understand the movies, I even see how comic books can tell us things. But there are full professors in this place who read nothing but cereal boxes." veniente, asleepawake and Two Espressos 3

But there are full professors in this place who read nothing but cereal boxes." Haha yes! Whenever anyone mentions criticisms of cultural theory, I always think back to that novel-- reading cereal boxes, requiring professors to spout off random dates in pop cultural history, etc...
Imogene Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 "It's French, it must be good." Thanks for this, Trip!
