kltree Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 So surreal! I'm in Hawaii so I just woke up to an email titled: Fulbright Application Status (P). I nearly peed my bed. And I opened it and a big Congratulations! Popped out at me. Oh the feels...
vPersie Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 Likewise... Their decision-making is all totally separate though, right? I think so, but I'd also like to pretend that this means we'll hear soon.
Torrid Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 I got one.... Holy cheese on a cracker. I was awarded a full research grant to Indonesia. I think I might explode. That is awesome! I can't believe you found out so soon, but I'm very happy for you!

there'sanappforthat Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 Ugh. I hate this. At least the last time, we knew if one person had heard, we all would be hearing very, very soon. It could be today, it could be a month from today. I wonder if they send emails on the weekend?
Bluewho Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 I got one.... Holy cheese on a cracker. I was awarded a full research grant to Indonesia. I think I might explode. Me too!! faithfullywaiting 1

there'sanappforthat Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 FPA just e-mailed recommended applicants at my school saying that FINAL RESULTS ARE COMING IN...so far just Indonesia... When you say, so far, just Indonesia, did your FPA tell you specifically, only Indonesia was replying, or, that's the only thing you had heard about. Sorry. I'm dying here.
kltree Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 Hahahaa. Glad you didn't pee on your bed.. Uhm. Also, i have to ask. Are you a Redditor? I am not. I try to keep my interneting to facebook, instagram, twitter, and my blog. You know... small kine stuff.

thelet Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 (edited) Congratulations guys. Could you please tell us who the email came from, and a bit more in detail about what it said? Edited February 22, 2013 by thelet
there'sanappforthat Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 Could you please tell us who the email came from, and a bit more in detail about what it said? Also jmv34, please tell more about what your FPA said. YES
jmv34 Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 From my FPA: "Dear All, Surprise, surprise, the results have started to come in with Indonesia leading the way. Please pay close attention to your messages and check your junk mail just in case. Here’s to good news!"
kltree Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 Well, It was from "Fulbright U.S. Student Program" an email at iie.org and titled "Fulbright Application Status (P)" This is the gist of the email: Congratulations! We are pleased to inform you that you have been selected for a Fulbright U.S. Student award for 2013-2014 to Indonesia. Shortly you will receive a letter from the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board with further details of the award. This letter will be sent to the mailing address listed in your application and noted above. This address will remain your corresponding address unless you notify us in writing, via email to your IIE Program Manager. In the meantime, be aware that this award is contingent upon your obtaining: medical clearance; a bachelor's degree, if graduating this year; official research clearance from the host country, where applicable; and required visas. So... time to get some visas!

Porshyen Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 Congratulations to Bluewho and Kltree! I find it somewhat odd that people I don't even know know I have been recommended.
there'sanappforthat Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 (edited) Congratulations to Bluewho and Kltree! I find it somewhat odd that people I don't even know know I have been recommended. I find it kind of frustrating that someone I don't know, knows before me. But that's the way it goes, eh?
