I've received the paperwork from Diane Greene, but can't figure out what information is being requested for "Payee Information" at the bottom of page 1 of the Fellowship Agreement? Does this refer to me or the institution accepting payment? Is it asking for a name, physical address, email address, etc.? Does anyone know?

Thanks for the updates. I haven't received anything yet.

I got the paperwork too. For payee information, I just put the info of the lady at my school who's taking care of processing the expense account and tuition. I put down her name and physical address since I assume they are sending checks

Found out that they are processing them in batches. There are still many to go.

Have people still not received their paperwork like me?

Yes, I have not received the paperwork yet either.

I haven't received anything either.  Anyone have any idea how long it is between each "batch" getting sent out?

I'm also still waiting.  I hope I'm in the next batch!

For those lucky STARS that got their letters, does it include a formal letter/contract that could be used as proof of income?  If someone could share some of the language used in the letter that would be great.  Much appreciated!

It seemed to me like the text was pretty clear in terms of "proof of income". One example is a table where section A is "Tuition and Fees (Paid to Institution)" and the amount (for me, at least) is $24,000. I assume this is the section you're most concerned about but the other sections are laid out in the same way but for stipend and expenses.

In other news:  I did not receive a "Fellowship Stipend Enrollment Form". Not sure if y'all did. It's basically just the direct deposit form. I emailed Cheryl (Grants Specialist) and she sent me one. I'd attach it here if anyone needs it or if that is even possible on this site...

Thanks Mike.  For the others that are also waiting, I sent an email to Brandon and got the following reply:

"We plan to have final notices out by the end of this month or early August (if all goes as planned).
Thanks for your patience during all of this."

I hope we hear soon.

I thought that August was supposed to be the beginning of our fellowship -- not good. I haven't heard anything either.

Has anyone else had to deal with the fact that 12k per year doesn't actually cover tuition and fees?

At my school, it leaves me short almost 3k. The shortfall is, at the moment, being taken care of using the 5k in expenses money. That + health insurance leaves me with exactly 21 dollars for travel / supplies (which I thought was the main point of that allocation). If we had to go to the EPA-STAR conference in DC, I'd have no money to cover that.

Thoughts?

You should speak with your advisor about the possibility of doing a half-time assistantship to make up the difference.

Has anyone else received their award package? I still did not get one.

I haven't either.  And I need to pay for student fee to register for classes.

Is anyone else not received their paperwork? Does it come in an email?

You're not alone, I'm still waiting too.

No package either.

I received my package Aug 14th (last Thursday), but mine was rushed because I informed Andre and Brandon that I have a health situation that requires my insurance be paid ASAP. If your "package" is like mine, you will get three attachments: a Fellowship Agreement which includes the Activation Notice, a cover letter, and a Stipend Direct Deposit form. I emailed and mailed everything back pronto, but it will still take ~ 2 weeks for my university to be paid.

For those who have not received their package: Brandon told me that the closest thing we have to an award letter before getting this package is the email we got months ago telling us we were going to get an award. Print this out and take it to your financial aid/scholarship department so they know money is coming. My school has a grace period of 1 month to pay fees after they are due. If your school does not have this, you may need to pay a fraction of your fees and get reimbursed later.

How long will it take for you to get paid?
