supernatural Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Okay, I will work on it today and post the link on here! I hope I applied to the right residence. I want to live in the Grad house. When I started the application. I got 5 options: Grad house, 1 bedroom, 2 bedroom etc. I clicked on grad house but I think that also includes the three residences (Mceown Park, Voyageur and Grad house). I do not want to live in Mceown :S. I also got matched with potential roommates. Did you experience the same when applying for res? Which one did you apply to? When I applied for Grad House, it asked me whether I want 2 bedroom suite/2bedroom loft/1 bedroom apartment, etc and I chose 2 bedroom suite. Grad House is different from all the other residence places - it's new and it will be finished this summer. I also got matched to potential roommates and I sent some of them a request based on their profiles lol.
Epi-OG Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Anyone received an official acceptance from Western's Epi program or have talked to a supervisor and have received official acceptance? Getting pretty anxious with the wait! Has anyone applied to Guelph for Master of Science in Pop Med?

Also have you talked to the residence office about early accommodation? because all mph students need to be there by mid august. Edited May 23, 2013 by afzal_11

No I haven't spoke with the residence office yet, I will be emailing them tonight because I know we need to be there before August 15th - however the deadline to request an early move in date is July 1st.

afzal_11 Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 (edited) Also, do you know where I can find the information regarding how many courses we have to take each term and which ones to take? Thanks! I'm not really sure, I was expecting we would get a broad information package with our official letter explaining some general things about the university (facilities, accommodation) in addition to stuff about the courses. I'm looking at the required courses on the website and one of them has to be taken in second year, and we need at least seven required courses to apply for the practicum (I plan to do it in the summer). I'm thinking about doing at least 8 required courses with two related electives first year, and then 3 additional electives with the two remaining required courses in second year. But you don't have to do that, I think you can spread it out further (max 2.5 years for full time students?) Also have you looked at the tuition? because I know the program tuition is listed but some people might opt to take more than 5 courses related to their area of interest, so would the tuition be calculated in terms of credit hours? lbmph Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 Also, do you know where I can find the information regarding how many courses we have to take each term and which ones to take? Thanks! Hi! I emailed the Residence office because I never had the option to choose my preference in residence. This was their response: I applied for College Quarter and Graduate Housing Hello, Students will pick their rooms online, so there is no preference section since only the rooms available will be visible for students to pick. College Quarter will be picking in June, and we will notify you by email when you can pick. College Quarter is our largest Residence Building, and we will likely have plenty of space for students. Graduate House has no set date for when it will be open, and we cannot guarantee any students will be moving in there before August 14th. Please let us know if you have any further questions. Thank-you
sn6666 Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 (edited) Hey - I spoke to the grad office for the M.Sc in global health at McMaster 2 weeks ago and they said in 2 weeks applicants would be notified about their status (waitlist or acceptance). I haven't heard any updates, has anyone else? Edited May 24, 2013 by sn6666

It's been two weeks, but from my understanding they send out offers on a rolling admission and so some people may not hear back until later in the summer!

MSc vs MPH Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Anyone received an official acceptance from Western's Epi program or have talked to a supervisor and have received official acceptance? Getting pretty anxious with the wait! Has anyone applied to Guelph for Master of Science in Pop Med? Hello Fellow Applicants, Q: WESTERN MSc EPI anyone???? Wondering about MSc versus MPH as well. Specifically MSc Epidemiology at Western vs Queens MPH??? Not many people have commented about the Western program. I feel like Western's MSc is very stats based and there is not much public health integrated. Does anyone have any perspectives on Western's MSc Epi program? How does it compare to Queens? The MSc seems to offer more epi methods and stronger skill set in epi as many of you have noted but no "public health" specific courses??? I want to be an epidemiologist but I also want to work in public health so im worried if western is a good fit?? - I'm so confused and I have to decide ASAP (as in 2days from now) ???????????????????????
mpherrr Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 Hi, if anyone starting their MPH at UofT is looking for a roommate, message me
