vincehoward
Again people no-one on this blog knows anything for certain. You can give into the negative speak if you want to. Hgsehopeful doesn't know anymore than anyone else. I refuse to give up hope. This is HARVARD we are talking about, the best school in the universe. They aren't planning events around what it will take for you to come for an interview. When HARVARD calls, you come running. I don't care if they call me the day before the last day of interviews; I am calling into work, grabbing the bag that I already have packed and leaving asap!!! I really don't understand how some of you want to be leaders of change but the least little thing brings major doubt? Where is your faith in yourselves? I will not allow anything that anonymous blogger that is still visiting this blog after declaring invites have already gone out, says. If that's true why still come to this blog? Face it guys, there are some very sad people in this world that love urinating on people's dreams fir no reason. They go to children's b-day parties just to pop all of the balloons....Go by what ADMISSIONS says...not someone that is trying to get selected just like you, Geez Louise. People come to these forums to get up to date information about the Ed.L.D program since HGSE doesn't send out info to all applicants until March (though we know they interview candidates on Feb 28). If you are content with waiting until the official email goes out then I'm not sure why you'd frequent a forum on The Grad School Cafe where you know people will speculate on whether interview invites have gone out already. Now that I know Ed.L.D is off the table for this year, I can focus on opportunities in the edu sector or at other grad schools. I have applications out to other schools which is why I still visit this website for updates and new information, in case you were wondering. Though I, too, want to be realistic about this, the fact that one interview invitation went out on Monday and another went out this morning does give one hope that it is, in fact, a little more of a rolling out process than we initially assumed and that there may very well me more invitations forthcoming. Definitely still holding onto some hope, here! ONLYHARVARD

Perhaps you should go to the other blogs were those admission processes are being discussed. According to admissions and the results table, you are dead wrong. All you have done since you have been posting, from what I can tell, is deliver negative and erroneous news. Since you keep harping on the fact you say Harvard has already sent all of its invites, it doesn't really make sense that you keep coming back on here urinating on everyone's parade. Why do that? Do you know more than admissions or the people that are getting their invites on a rolling basis????? I am not myself an applicant, but many of the posts on this forum are speculations based on what has or what will happen. Harvard (the institution) does not assume people can just stop life to come for them; that would be quite presumptuous of them (and if the applicant pool is as selective as they want it to be, they acknowledge how difficult it would be to come at the drop of a hat). The results table indicates a couple of people have been notified already, by no means the majority, but considering that only 50 are invited to interview and the entire world is not on gradcafe, it's still a pretty good indication that invitations might have already gone out. I would doubt that they would wait until the end of next week (probably, at most, the end of this one), because it would be financially irresponsible to delay it even further. As one of the lead institutions in the country, they are aware of financial disparities among their prospective applicants, and I am sure that they attempt to provide as much support as possible through application season. kentuckygirl
Happy V day?!!! I think as the week progresses, reality is kicking in for many of us on the forum (denial is a hard thing to break)..... I am going to have a happy V-day - I see now that three people listed that they have interviews. As others have said, there are thousands of applicants, probably few of whom frequent this site.... as such, that is probably a fairly representative statistic, given the overall application numbers. Just a reminder, this is the most competitive graduate program in the USA at the moment (possibly the world) with the lowest acceptance rate. The Harvard Med School has a higher acceptance rate than this program. Pat yourselves on the back, study the cohorts, and see what you can do to learn and grow between now and next year. Also, remember that when the numbers get that high, there are many many MANY qualified candidates they just cannot take. This is not really about quality, it is about having something that interests Harvard - we are all qualified. Same time next year??? kas18

So strange how they go out on different days.... would love to know why that is. Good luck! I have a feeling we may all be asking for pointers from you a year from now!!! 2BHarvardedld
Guys, if I had to guess, I would think they are sending them out as they decide. i don't think they are through sending out invites. I just took a minute to catch up on what you guys have been saying on here. Wow, I am glad I left when I did. I NEVER doubted. Don't doubt yourself! Excited4Edld
So strange, and crazy on the nerves... I wonder what the method is behind the madness...... So here is my theory for the "method behind the madness"...with 50 potential people interviewing (including all of us of course), there is no way they would send out all of the invites in one email blast. Why? If they have to set up flights/hotels/meals/interview schedules for each person, that is going to take a lot of time per person. Could you imagine 50 people all calling immediately after getting their email invitation (even 2-3 days after) to set all of that up? That would be a nightmare for the admissions office...unless they have 50 employees in the admissions office dedicated to each person (which I doubt). So, my theory is that they have blocked out two weeks (10 business days) to contact 5 of the 50 potentials each day. That would logically give them time to make arrangements for each person. I also speculate that geography is playing some part in how they are contacting people. Maybe contacting those people whom are closest geographically to Cambridge last so they can make easier plans by Friday, the 22nd to get them there on the 28th. It may just be dillusions of granduer, but isn't that really what they are looking for in candidates anyway? Revolutioning education is going to take some thoughts of granduer for sure. Just my thoughts! kas18
