OhioStateStudent Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 As you guys have seen, northwestern has already sent out some admits. My app center says that no decision has been made yet. However, the uncertainty is killing me. Is it proper for me to contact the school and ask if they have completed sending out their admissions?
atm2unc2idk Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 If it is bothering you as bad as it seems to be, then you should call them. I don't think there is any harm in asking, but the site does say they won't finish making decisions until the end of February/beginning of March. Saying that, if you do contact them, let me know what they say.
OhioStateStudent Posted January 16, 2013 Author Posted January 16, 2013 I'm afraid they might get annoyed if I ask
33andathirdRPM Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Annoyance shouldn't prevent an admission. Concerns about mental stability (to the point of questioning a candidates fitness for the program) could prevent an admission.

Concerns about mental stability (to the point of questioning a candidates fitness for the program) could prevent an admission. This exactly. The person answering your email probably doesn't have too much input in making the actual admissions decision, it could be that they just handle administrative work (including answering applicant emails). Perhaps you could phrase your email nicely, with something like "I was wondering if I could get an update to my submitted application." Good luck!
OhioStateStudent Posted January 17, 2013 Author Posted January 17, 2013 I sent them a message on my application center, hopefully they have good news.
OhioStateStudent Posted January 17, 2013 Author Posted January 17, 2013 They told me that only some early admissions decisions had been made and that the rest will be made at the end of February/Early March. Damn.
