kelleyj Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Has anyone else started job searching yet in case they don't get in? I want my programs, but I feel like I need to start looking at a Plan B and hoping I don't have to use it. Anyone else feel the same?
iphi Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 I've started looking. Unfortunately I'm having the same results as grad school apps (no calls from anyone). sugarmilk 1
queenleblanc Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 I don't think it could hurt to look for a job at this point. If you get accepted, keep the job until you have to go to school, and that's a bit more $ you won't have to get on grad loans. If you don't get accepted, you're that much farther ahead into finding / starting a job as the plan B. I am currently employed (6th year teaching) and my plan B is to keep on teaching, so... my plan B is also to continue to work, if I am unable to get into ANY grad programs in my field.
CP3 Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 I've began to look into teaching jobs, mostly adjunct, part time gigs. I really hope that I get accepted....
PatrickCassidy Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 I've started looking. Unfortunately I'm having the same results as grad school apps (no calls from anyone). Welcome to my life... I graduated this past fall with a double major in Criminal Justice and Sociology and I cannot even find a minimum wage part-time job where I live. Between the 4 schools I applied to for graduate school and not even getting one call back I am starting to slowly fall into depression.
tiarabun Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 (edited) I've began to look into teaching jobs, mostly adjunct, part time gigs.
