Accepted to Georgia State with assistantship! Came when I least expected it - I was feeling pretty low after getting my Waitlist letter from UGA on Friday. Now I'm elated!

Congrats!!!

Did anyone else apply to Temple? I saw that some people got acceptances today. I logged onto my account just now and saw that my status is "Incomplete Items Outstanding." I sent in all of my documents to them, double checked with my professors to make sure they sent their reccs, and right after I submitted my app, I received a confirmation email from Temple saying that my app was turned in. I'm not sure what could be missing :/ and it's frustrating at this point because I worked so hard to get it right.

Contact the graduate coordinator tomorrow; he or she may be able to explain what's up.  I know that must be frustrating.  :-(

Though now someone has been wait listed at Chapel Hill, so now I am very confused about my standing.

Me too, ... so confused.  My app wasn't officially complete until 1/2 though -- one of my LOR's is basically computer illiterate, which took longer.  Otherwise it was complete on 11/11 when I paid the fee (and 2 of my LOR's were already in).  If they are going by date, maybe that's why I haven't heard either.  Or maybe we are just wait-listed until they hear back from the first cycle of applicants, and then we will get notice of being officially accepted? ;-)  Thinking optimistically!!

My last LOR wasn't technically submitted until 1/18, because I. Diana didn't upload it to the system until then (she received it the first week of November though). Super, super confused on how exactly they are making decisions. Optimistic that I haven't been outright rejected though!

Yeah, I kind of wonder if some schools have a "first-string" (for lack of a better term) waitlist. It seems possible!

Hey, we've got a lot of similar schools! I also thought about UT Austin, but I'm a bit geographically limited. I'm a post bacc though, and originally looked at them for linguistics.

I'm also anxious to hear from UW schools, but they seem to take their time :(

I've heard rumblings of UW-Milwaukee sending notifications around the 15th of March so 2 weeks-ish. Plus I know people from last year hearing from Stevens Point within the first two weeks of March. I got rejected at Marquette and I'm very anxious about Milwaukee as that's where I'm at right now and I don't really think I'm ready to move just yet!

How was your interview with UNM? I had a phone interview with them as well. I hope thats a good sign! Congrats on your acceptance to Marquette, great school

Thanks!  The phone interview with UNM went ok.  I was so nervous and am glad to be done with it!  It sounds like they will get back to us around March 11.  Are you looking into any programs with a bilingual emphasis?  Good luck with all your apps!

I had just given up hope hearing from any more schools thinking I'd have to wait until next week - but I JUST got an email from UT - Dallas and I have been accepted! SO excited!!!!

CONGRATS!!!!!

Thanks jmarti!!  Every time I see someone posting good news about UNC-CH I run here hoping it's you or one of the others still waiting to hear from them. I hope you get good news tomorrow!!!!

I was nervous too, but I did my best so all I can do now is wait! I'm actually not interested in a bilingual program because I only speak English, but I do like that they have a multicultural emphasis program, and I would love to improve my spanish skills in grad school. Thank you! Good luck with yours as well!

I've been keeping up with this thread for a while so I just wanted to take a second and say hi and good luck to all of you!  Everyone seems so wonderful and excited about becoming SLPs - best of luck to all of you through this incredibly stressful time!

I actually got the call from UNC-CH last Thursday and it officially came up tonight on Connect Carolina that I've been admitted!!!  I just graduated from UNC last May so I am beyond elated.  Still no mention of funding yet though, and that's really going to be my biggest determinant in this whole process.  Big relief though, so far! Can't wait to hear about the rest of my schools.

Again, nice to meet you all and good luck to everyone :)

Thanks!!

And, sure! I submitted on December 1.  I'm technically an international student, too, so I may have gone through a different process? I have no idea honestly.

No problem. You should be super proud of your acceptance! It's really awesome  :)

Congrats to those accepted. Boo to the colleges that give decisions out in April. Such a long wait...

I want to send a quick congratulations to everyone that received good news today! Even though I know that there is a good shot that I will not hear anything from any of my schools until March, I have still been checking my emails obsessively just in case a school makes its decision a little sooner than usual. It also didn't help that I received a large envelope in the mail that was nothing but some info on my 401k and an email that said in the header "Graduate Admissions", that was only about how graduate students at the school I got wait listed in are eligible for ROTC. March can't get here soon enough.

Ahhhhhh, someone just posted on the results page that they got an acceptance letter in the mail from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.  This is sooo stressful!

Holy cow, I didn't know carolina switched from "studentcentral.unc.edu" to this new connect carolina ... things change when you've been away for 6 years... Connect Carolina is SO much better than the old student central site.  Wow!

Yeah, my decision is still "not yet available."  Patiently (or impatiently, but quietly) waiting. :-)
