ab2013 Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 Well, I have an admit to a safety school (USC's MSCS program) so I have that to go to if all the other schools, including Michigan, where I go right now for undergrad, reject me. If I choose not to go to USC (it's expensive), I'll probably do my summer internship that I committed to last November, take a couple months off, then look for a FT position.
ab2013 Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 Update: Spoke to the UMich grad office. They expect to finish review of MS applications by next Friday. They said that e-mails should go out the week after that.
naijaba Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 Wow that's cutting it close to the April 15th deadline. Really not fair to applicants who may want to revisit before deciding.
ab2013 Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 Well ... there are other issues, like housing. Sometimes it's difficult to find good housing so late in the year. However, there are too many people applying to grad school. It might have something to do with the economy.
OhMySocks Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 Oh wow, really? I still haven't heard back from UCSD. I wish they would at least reject the definitely rejected people.
csyrez Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Who is still waiting to hear from UCSD for CS PhD? Which area? My area is Theory.
Phoenix! Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 I am waiting too! Machine Learning (mostly)! It's almost April... Can't wait much longer...
OhMySocks Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Still waiting on UCSD, but I've definitely assumed the worst. High performance computing and theory. Looks like last year their rejections came out march 26th-april 1st, so its not like they're behind at this point. josefchung and waitingandwaiting 2
tkmkt Posted March 30, 2013 Author Posted March 30, 2013 I'm still waiting for Michigan and UCSD. Hope I would hear good news like leofanxiong. waitingandwaiting 1
