teacherplease Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 I'm really loving all the positive teacher-vibes on gradcafe. It makes me proud of going into the profession!
NoChance Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Makes sense since everybody on this site is going to be or is already associated with education in some way or another. Anybody else under the potentially misguided opinion that we might find out within the next 24 hours?

WordlTraveler Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 I think next 24 hours sounds right. I am 8 hours away from Stanford time, so a bit longer for me, but still going crazy.

Isn't 24 hours from now just 24 hours from now, no matter where in the world you are..................? Also, are you guys saying in the next 24 hours bc the non-step MA students found out last week this time? Hmm that makes sense, but according to the Stanford website, the lag time between the two decisions is about 2 weeks?
WordlTraveler Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 (edited) I am saying next 24 hours based on results search from last years. I meant let's say you find out Thursday during the day, which is Friday morning for where I live, so it is same amount of waiting hours, but later for me in a way ))) Edited February 26, 2014 by WordlTraveler

Hmm that makes sense, but according to the Stanford website, the lag time between the two decisions is about 2 weeks? Hah I get what WordlTraveler means. I'm 9 hours ahead of Pacific time, so I'll tell myself "Wednesday!" and then realize that I have to wait until Thursday morning. Sure we're all waiting the same amount of time. And yes, mostly. A quick analysis of the past 3 years shows that non-STEP responses have been between the 25th and the 28th (with a few outliers, but I go with the date of the majority). The last 2 years, the decisions were released 6 days after the STEP decisions, and only 3 days afterward 3 years ago.
shark_bait Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 (edited) I'm another declined applicant for STEP and received the email last Thursday. If you haven't heard yet, you might get good news! Edited February 27, 2014 by shark_bait
phil413 Posted February 27, 2014 Author Posted February 27, 2014 (edited) Well then, what are we waiting for? Let the freak-out commence! (am I going to get demerits, or whatever is the appropriate forum-term, for flamboyant formatting and explicit encouragement of anxiety?! ) Edited February 27, 2014 by phil413 NoChance 1
moyru Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 I also applied to Stanford GSE. I applied to the Learning, Design, and Technology program. Ahhhhh! FREAKING OUT.
SCGH Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 So we are nearly half way done thru Thursday and still no word. My guess is no news today.
WordlTraveler Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Isn't it just 11 am in Stanford? I think the whole day is still ahead.
SCGH Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Yeah but weren't the STEP notices done in the morning last week?
WordlTraveler Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Yeah but weren't the STEP notices done in the morning last week? I see your point. But maybe for other programs it might not be morning hours. Still hoping for news.

WordlTraveler Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 I hope you're right! Waiting when it's this close can be tortuous. Yes.. Which program have you applied?
TinOhSu Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 I also applied to ICE, was hoping for a decision today, be we'll see. Question: do any of your application status pages still mark the GRE scores as unofficial? Mine are even though I sent them months ago. The admissions office assured me my application was being reviewed, this was just a delay in getting the scores from the central office and would have no negative effect, but it still makes me uneasy. Anyway, good luck to all of you!
SCGH Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 My GRE scores say official and the rest of my app is "complete."

NoChance Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Mine as well. Also ICE here. I'll withhold any Hunger Games references.
WordlTraveler Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Any ideas what the acceptance rate for Master's programs looks like?
phil413 Posted February 27, 2014 Author Posted February 27, 2014 (edited) ONE MORE ICE! *waves hands frantically* May the odds be ever in [our] favor! Edited February 27, 2014 by phil413
