International Development Applicants 2014/15 for SOAS, IHEID, LSE or Sciences Po?

I feel exactly the same way. I simultaneously want to receive my IHEID result as soon as possible, but I don't want to receive it early if it means I've been rejected. I'm just trying to maintain my sanity while waiting.

I get what you guys mean. IHEID is the only school which has still given me its answer. Given that its my top choice, I cant even concentrate on other schools or their funding and stuff. All I do is keep checking my emails frantically and losing my head. I have been beyond unproductive. Boy I just hope IHEID gives out its acceptances soon. So that i can kick start my stagnant life. The wait is taking its toll on me.

Guys, let's pray...

yeah whenever I check the IHEID follow up page, my heart skipped a beat. I hope this is over soon and wish everyone great luck!

I think LLM follows a diff pattern than the other master programmes. Last year IHEID took their results out by Feb end rather i received my rejection on 27th Feb.

Tomorrow is 27th February again! Here's hoping that it doesn't herald any unfortunate news for any of us.

If that helps. Sure let's all do that.

Exactly it's like the world stopping for a min around me. I know highly dramatic but still.

Fingers crossed. It will be like a blast from the past for me if that happens.

Hi Ana!

I had submitted my application at ScPo on 14th November and got my acceptance for the same course on 17th Dec. So roughly it takes around a month. Though I think your application might take a bit longer given you submitted it in Feb. Generally these guys mention how applications received during Feb to April will receive their results late. In any case, goodluck :)

Thanks angie!! I really hope to get an acceptance email very soon, im going crazy hahah

Hello everybody,

good to find a threat describing everything I went through as well in the last 3 months.

I applied for Master degrees in International Development (and their variations at each university) at LSE, SOAS, UCL and Sciences Po.

Fortunately I was accepted at all of them. I have decided to attend Sciences Po as I think the programme is most attractive an well rounded there.

Plus the prospect of reaching fluency in French is an opportunity I cannot miss out on.

To reply to your question Ana: I waited around 45 days until I received the offer. Let's see how long it will take you to get an answer.

They will let you know if your application is admissible or not around two to three weeks after your application was completed.

For everyone who was accepted and is planning to attend Sciences Po check out the groups that I have created on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/groups/1447914832109226/ & https://www.facebook.com/groups/583655801731402/

I hope the groups will allow us to get to know each other a little bit before meeting in September!

Great seeing all the commitment and helping hands reaching out in this thread!!! :)

Thanks for the info. I guess I'd know if I'm admissable in the next couple of weeks and hopefully I'll be joining the facebook group at the end of march (fingers crossed!)

Just in case anyone has missed my last post about IHEID. Got an email from Paola Eicher saying that the PhD decisions will be made today and I should receive an email tomorrow. Good luck. The school is my first choice!

Good luck! Crossing my fingers for you :)

I wonder if we can expect some decisions for MIA/Mdev some time this week or only starting next week...

Did you mail IHEID regarding this?

I considered posting on IHEID facebook page because I know that Ms Eicher checks it and replies to prospective students but I figured it clearly says decisions will be released from March 1-15 I doubt she will say anything beyond that... no?

Someone's just posted that question to their Facebook page, and Paola answered with this about half an hour ago:

"dear Yasir, you will be notified around mid-March. Only 2 more weeks left. best of luck to you. Paola Eicher"

Mid-march! Only two more weeks of hyperventilation and anxious page-refreshing. Hang in there everyone - we're on the home stretch. :)

Thanks Mych!

I guess we can stop overstressing... she gave the latest possible deadline! Like most of you I don't know if I should hope to hear back the first week of March or be glad if I hear nothing back for a while. My guess is early round applicant's decisions have already been made since our applications were reviewed first. Arghhh so much speculation... my stomach is in knots! Ok stepping away from the keyboard.....

On a less nervewracking note, I just got an offer for MSc Development Management at LSE (but no funding so I can't really afford to attend unfortunately). Fingers crossed that IHEID is more generous with their scholarships (assuming I get in, that is)! I totally feel you all on the ridiculous amount of anxiety and anticipation for the IHEID results.

I haven't applied to IHEID, with the popularity here I feel like I'm missing out haha! Though I empathise with the anxiousness/excitement, will be getting a reply for admission and phd/dphil around the same mid march time. I'm away on vacation at the moment so it could potentially be crappy news when I get home :P.

Fingers crossed for you all, best of luck!

I know I said I was going to step away from the keyboard but I couldn't help myself... congratulations! Even if you end up not accepting the offer, you can at least say you got in. Are you sure you looked into all possible funding options?

I got my reply last week for the very same program! I am actually torn between Dev Management at LSE and Dev Practice at Sciences Po at the moment and both are 1 year programs (for my own sanity I refuse to think about IHEID for the next few days) I think you are the only other person who applied for Dev Management on this thread. Where else did you apply and if funding was not a problem... where would you go?

Hi Oriole and Alchyna,

I just got an offer from LSE  as well, for the MPA-ID. This is a two year programme, and a very expensive one at that. They've asked me to wait for a decision on aid, so i'm going to do that. Last week, i got accepted at the University of Wisconsin Madison for the Master in International Public Affairs, but without any funding. I'm waiting for quite a few places to get back to me, and hopefully things will be clear by mid March.

Slightly less stressed about IHEID now :)  Fingers crossed for everyone here!

Hi everyone!

It is exciting to see people share information and support each other.

I've also applied to IHEID and I would like to share news and information with you concerning application process and, hopefully, further on accommodation and travel issues.

Good luck to all of you!!!

Congratulations to you and everyone on the admissions! Good luck with the funding as well. My scholarship decisions would only come by June so have to sweat it out till then.

btw arbitist, what are your top choices?

Hello again,

IHEID or Duke would be my top choice but depends on aid, really. Also, is this the IDS scholarship you're waiting for?

Congratulations (:
