Still waiting on CSULA but I had an interview with CSUN on Monday. They said they are doing everything quickly this application period and will be letting us know if their decisions within a month. AAAHH!

I've been accepted into the CSUN 2 Year program! :) so happy, my first program choice! Good luck to everyone!!!! Don't ever give up hope and keep going even when you get down! I applied last year to a different program and didn't get in, so this year I applied to more places and started volunteering at more places and the hard work payed off :) good luck :)

After being put on waitlist for CSUN (and almost losing hope), I got an email saying they have accepted me! I am so ecstatic! My first choice school.

I know I'm late to the party, but does anyone have more info regarding Cal State LA's MSW program? I was JUST accepted on Friday for the forensic social work concentration, and I'm kind of freaking out. I am about 75% sure I'll be attending there (it's either LA or USC...), but I have questions. I made the stupid mistake of not attending any of the info sessions, and the admissions office NEVER answers when I call. These are my questions:

-How big is the social work cohort? what about concentrations?

-How are field placements determined?

Thank you so much advance, feel free to message me as well. Good luck with all those who are waiting :)

Callmejuliette- Congrats on your acceptance. I am at CSULA, just finishing my 1st year in the MSW program, forensic concentration. Your questions, answered:

-How big is the social work cohort? what about concentrations?

Full time cohort is about 60 students, with about 20 per concentration.

-How are field placements determined?

1st year field placements are assigned by the MSW department. The field office will email you more information about your placement during the summer.

You have a tough choice to make, but I do recommend CSULA. It's the only school in the area with a forensic concentration and you will have a lot of interaction with professors and classmates. The program is challenging, but you will learn. Feel free to message me if you would like more info.
