Does anyone know how many alternates there are in a given pool? I was thinking maybe 50% is (P), 25%is (A), and 25% is (NS). Or there could be less alternate and more non selects? Just want to know my chances here... :/

YES!!! Congrats to all the (P)s. :) Welcome to the Fulbright fold.

To all the NS & A folks: You are wonderful and as said above, one door closes another one opens! <3 Don't lose hope and be proud of the work you did to get here.

Just got the notification from Fulbright for Macau ETA: alternate. Majorly bummed, so if anyone is a principal and doesn't want/can't go, please let them know ASAP!

Sorry to hear you're bummed! If you're set on teaching in Macau, I recently saw a posting on Idealist.org for English teachers. While teaching certification is a plus, it's not a requirement. Here's a link to one of the listings I saw: http://www.idealist.org/view/job/WP9g3jDxCbJd/

Hi all, question for the Taiwan ETA people. When you log on to the IIE FB pre-grantee portal does Taiwan ETA show up under program? Right now, nothing shows up under program, country, or any of the other headers. I'm just worried about not being able to submit the documents in an orderly or timely manner.

Congratulations to all the (P).

Good luck to all the alternates

And keep your head up and keep trying to all of you who didn't make it this year. I was rejected from 2 major fellowships before receiving Fulbright! Just keeping working to improve yourself each day!

Under the "Programs" tab, at the bottom, next to "Participant ID" it shows up as Taiwan for "Location Country." There is nothing under "Country of Nomination." When you click on your participant ID, you should be redirected to a page to upload documents. Hope that helps.

It may take them a bit to get your information into the system. They are also using a new system so there's some glitches. I, for example, didn't show up for a while; my suggestion is if you don't see yourself in a few days email the program manager! They'll direct you toward IT. :)

hey guys. i got my offer for the Rochester Institute of Technology, Master of Science in Finance. As i am still evaluating my offer, i would really appreciate if anyone has any advice or has heard anything about this program. It would be really helpful. Good luck to all...

Did you also get a Fulbright? If so, you could always ask Rochester to defer your admission for a year.

Have any other SSA primary candidates received the grant authorization document?  It has been 11 days since I received the notification email but still no grant authorization document so I was just wondering if this was common or if I need to follow up with somebody.

Thanks!

Jrk2115: I'm a (P) for an ETA to South Africa and I haven't received the grant authorization document yet!

The MSF from RIT is actually the offer Fulbright gave me as a principal candidate. But I still haven't accepted yet because I haven't heard anything about this programs reputation (i didnt list it in the preferred unis section of the application).

Hm, it might be best, then, to ask about the school in particular in a different section of the forum related to accounting/finance/economics. You will probably get a quicker response from more people already in similar programs.

Have there been any (A)s that have gotten P for research? When I looked over the spreadsheet it looked like there were far more As who got bumped up for ETAs than for research.

Also, is there any way to see if the other Ps have already accepted the grant? I'm treating my A as a hopeful no but I'm trying to figure out if I should drop that hopeful part...

Hello people, I'm a selected candidate for Colombia ETA Program. I was notified on March 20 - really happy and excited. Thing is, I still haven't got medical clearance and I submitted the medical history and examination form on March 26. Anybody else in the same boat? I haven't got the Grant Authorization Form yet either, but I understand that I have to get medical clearance first. I'm getting nervous. Six weeks are up Wednesday!

Hi Titania31!

I can't quote on my computer at the moment but in regards to your question - the six week was deadline for you as a pre-grantee to submit the paperwork not for the DoS to approve them.

The cogs of government work slowly in this regard so I wouldn't be too worried if you haven't heard from them yet. :)

If there was an issue you probably would have gotten an email or phone call already, so no news so far is good news! I submitted mine the week after you and still have not heard anything either.

Hope this helps!

Also on an entirely different note: Have any grantees to the East-Asia Pacific region gotten an email from IIE (or the DoS) regarding the US orientation in June yet?

Finally got my grant letter and terms of conditions etc. for Taiwan research. Geez. So much info. I'm a little bummed that it seems like we can't stay abroad to travel after the length of the grant though. Anyone know if there are exceptions to this rule? Why is this the case?

Update: I called Jermaine Jones today regarding Jordan grants.

..... no helpful information. Sorry everyone. I tried.

Did he happen to confirm that Kenya didn't give out any grants this year by chance ?..
