I was going strong but I've finally succumb to the torture. I've been contacted by two schools and although I know it's too early to give up hope, the wait is killing my spirits.

Last week I had a Skype interview with a POI and it went pretty well. He asked when I'd want to start if I got accepted, which I know isn't fool proof but I thought it was a good sign. Then he told me the admissions people were meeting soon and I could expect to hear from them mid next week. Which is now, but so far nothing! Ugh.

I also spoke with a POI from another university last week who told me I have a strong application and suggested I come down to visit on my own since they only have a few spots to offer this year. He told me to Email him to plan when to visit so I did late Monday and he hasn't answered yet. My mind is starting to become my worst enemy more each hour that passes with no reply.

I know the feeling. I've heard from everywhere but one. When I emailed them, they said the person that needed to review it was out of town, but would be back the last week of Jan. Then the application deadline was Feb. 1, so I'm assuming he just waited until after that to review them. It's killing me though. I also won't find out about funding until March/April, so I can't actually make a decision until then anyway. The stress of waiting is making my stomach turn.

Yup. I'm facing the March/April wait and the thought of waiting that long absolutely kills me. I still check the website 2x a day even though I know I'm not going to hear back until later.

I just don't understand why the POI I interviewed with would give me a date to expect to hear my admission decision if he was not interested in admitting me. I feel like if, after speaking with me, he knew I wasn't the right fit he would have been less specific in when I'd hear back or wouldn't have brought it up at all-I didn't ask, he mentioned the general date on his own. But from past experience I know silence is not a good sign so I'm assuming rejection.

I would probably send him an email. I know it's going to be nerve wrecking to even compose an email for that but I guess I would prefer that over waiting.  I would muster the courage to do it!
