Before grad school "bucket list"

Part of me kind of wants to plan a trip to a beach this summer, I've never been and I've never been on an airplane. It would be kind of like a last hooray before school and before my friends baby is born. I don't know that she could fly though..? I would go alone but traveling alone seems really scary. That's it. I don't really have any other strong desires before grad school, I really just want to start and finish pretty soon.

I wish I could quilt. Do you it make it by hand?

 

Ha, you and me both! This is my first quilting project. I have been sewing the pattern by hand and using the machine to sew the quilt squares together. I realized my technique is off in many ways, so I'm scrapping what I currently have - I have sewing lessons beginning next week, which hopefully will help. Patience!

Oh man, these next few months are going to be fun. Here's my to-do list:

1. Rebuild my souped up powerwheels car, race it at maker faires around the midwest
2. Go to a whole bunch of concerts 
3. Trip to FL with boyfriend--gonna go to some of the amusement and state parks (as well as a Rob Zombie show )
4. Join a rock climbing gym
5. Learn how to use a laser cutter and a 3d printer
6. Run a half-marathon and a whole bunch of 5Ks and 10Ks
7. Submit a first-author paper
8. Move to Boston!

2. Go to Mexico

3. Hike a ton

4. Have some great camping trips

5. I'm considering driving across the US before my husband's job starts but I don't know if that will happen.  I just really want to do it but I don't know when he will have three weeks off again any time soon.  Hmmmm.

7. Find a house.

Just thought of 2 more things I want to do but I doubt I can do them before grad school so maybe during..??

I need to go to Sundance one time and Coachella. I've seen a lot of my sorority sisters who went to Coachella and It looks so fun! All the colorful outfits and stuff
